When I got home I got a text that almost made me forget about closing the door, it was from Olive.
«Have a great day at work, Bry-bry.»
«Like always...» I sent confused.
«What have you done now?» I felt forced to ask fearing the answer.
«I kinda told certain new boy where did you worked and when did your shift started.»
No. No ,no, no. This wasn't happening... That work is my cover to go to Miami and be with my real friends, to be the real me. It took me a lot to convince Olive to don't ever dare to visit me there because I was always super busy and I would be embarrassed. But Sebastian? How the fuck was I going to stop him from coming whenever he wanted, I was never at that damn restaurant!
"Olive!" I screamed at my friend through the phone when she picked it up. I went to my room while I waited for her to reply.
"Bryony! Darling, you let the door open!" My dad screamed from down the stairs.
"Sorry dad, can you close it for me? I need to talk with Olive. Thanks." I covered the phone with one hand before entering my room.
"Bryony? I can't hear you well... Have fun attending Sebastian. Bye!" Olive made some noises faking the connection failed then hanged up.
I didn't have time to let out a frustration sigh before a phone started to ring, it wasn't the one I had in my hand so I pick it up quickly, it was a video call from Aiden.
"Sup, bonita?" Aiden popped up in the screen. "Getting ready for tonight?"
Tonight my plan was going clubbing with the club of hopeless souls in Miami, we never knew where until we were there but we always had a lot of fun, but the matchmaker of my friend had to ruin it.
Dammit, how stressful.
"All my clothes are at our apartment." I remembered him. "And I don't even know if I can go."
"No..." Aiden pouted. "I have already painted my nails." He joked then showed his black nails to the camera. "Okay it was Anais, she was very bored but still."
I smiled at the thought of such an scene. Aiden was pretty hyperactive, it must have been hard for Anais to keep him still.
"Where are the rest by the way? I would like to explain myself with everybody"
"Well, Anais is with Rain walking around the beach, so romantic." He blinked a couple of times following the joke. "And Genny and Sterling are..."
Aiden stopped talking when he got interrupted. I couldn't see much through his camera, I just heard the door opening and lots of laughs and gasping breaths.
"Oh please no, guys really... You just remembered me the reason why I moved." Aiden turned to the just arrived couple, Genny and Sterling. "I'm trying to have a serious conversation with my roommate and you are just thinking about fucking."
Aiden stepped aside enough so that I could see Sterling and Genny, this last was laughing while Sterling rolled his eyes to Aiden's comment. Then they both got closer to the camera for me to see them on the screen.
"Hello, Bryony." Sterling waved at me, I did the same.
"Bonita can't come tonight." Aiden killed the mood then he crossed his arms. "We are waiting for an explanation."
Genny pouted too but she didn't say anything, she waited for an explanation as the rest. I gave it to them after letting out a sigh.
"There's a vampire here who will come to my work today, my incompetent human friend told him where I worked so my cover isn't useful anymore."
