~Bryony~
"Yuck!" Rain stuck out his tongue as a disgust gesture. Aiden had convinced him to taste a strong shot with a weird name and now Rain was regretting it.
"Bartender, another round!" Genny ordered since our table while Rain kept making disgust faces and the boys laughed at him.
"What did you use to drink a month ago? Juice?" Aiden mocked, Sterling laughed with him and I saw Anais slightly chuckling.
"I used to drink a couple of beers after a match..." Rain crossed his arms like a child.
"You were on a sport team?" Anais got interested, then the bartender brought the shots and she drank one in a swallow with Genny and me.
"Nah... I just went to the afterparty." Rain said playing with his shot, Anais took the shot from his hands and drank it after toasting with Sterling and Aiden, Rain rolled his eyes.
"I'm sure you will like this more..." I took my empty glass, a knife that laid on the table and filled half of little shot glass with my blood.
The first drop of blood reached the bottom of the shot glass all the vampire of the table turned to me craving the red liquid that came out from my forearm. When half of the glass turned red I covered the shot of blood with my hand while I looked at how the wound healed, I have always been amazing by the way my body prevented me from death, always healing me so that I wouldn't die.
Rain was sat in front of me, I slid the shot across the table so that it would reach him. He was about to drink it but Sterling took it from his hands.
"This shot isn't for babies, newbie." He said before drinking the shot in a swallow, then Sterling licked his lips looking at Rain with superiority.
"That was mine, man!" Rain complained. He looked like a kid with a tantrum when he got mad so we all laughed.
"Jungle law, buddy... Jungle law." Aiden sympathize with Rain patting him on the back.
Seeing them fighting for a sip of my blood made me remember something... A game, one that everyone on the club of hopeless souls knew very good, all except Rain of course. It's true you could say it was bloody game, our version of hide and seek or The Hunger Games, whatever you want to call it.
"Kids, don't fight for a drop when we can play hide and seek... "
My words caught them off guard. Silence took over our table, but not an uncomfortable one, no, those who knew what I was talking about looked at each other with the evident desire to play reflected on their faces. Rain didn't have shit about what we were talking about so he was lost, looking at us trying to understand something he wouldn't unless we explained it to him.
"I don't think it's a good idea to play with Rain..." Anais broke the silence.
"Why not?" Aiden hastened to reply. "Everything he has ever hunt are humans who walked calmed down an alley... He doesn't know the excitement of hunting something that runs away from you." He expressed his opposite opinion to Anais' doubts this time patting Rain's back harder causing the boy to almost eat the table.
"I'm with Aiden, it will be fine." Sterling agreed.
"I'm with the boys... As long as it's okay with you, Bryony." Genny worried about me, any of them would play if I wasn't fully up to it.
"Sure, Shadow Hollow is giving me headaches..." Sebastian Edevane gives me headaches, I wanted to rectify. "And hide and seek helps me relax." I added. "I always have a lot of fun."
