Lizbeth got up from her chair and opened her purse but I knew what she pretended so I stopped her.
"I pay." I told her while I helped to close her purse again.
I was ready to face her complains if she insisted in paying half of the bill but she never did... She smiled at me before disappearing towards the restaurant, it was open for using the restroom.
I ordered the bill and paid it, Lizbeth didn't seem like she would come soon so I stole a glass of champagne and sat on one of the white sofas that were in a corner of the tent. I looked forward while I drank from my glass and everything I saw was white. Everything, the chairs, the tables, the plates and the worker's uniform was white. I missed my black sheep in that moment... She would surely stood up from all those boring humans.
I had finished the glass of champagne, I was debating about if I should steal another glass or not when I saw one of those humans dressed in white walking towards me. I didn't recognize who she was until I distinguish those pink streak. Hills, walking drunk with a glass of champagne in one hand, sat next to me. Unlike Lizbeth her dress was white, one of the things I disliked when she arrived, that and all her.
Hills didn't say anything so I took the glass from her and left it on the sand, she made a sound as a complain and finally talked.
"What a coincidence finding you here..." She assured with an obvious drunk tone.
"I'm in a date, Hills. Why are you bothering me?" I tried her to leave but she didn't even listen to me.
"You never gave me the chance to explain." She turned her head towards me, making it looks like it weighed on her. "My secret..."
The truth is that Hills looked horrible, obviously she was wearing makeup but it still showed her dark circles. The dress she was wearing was bulky, it had several layers of ruffles, and yet I could tell she was skinnier than usual.
I never gave a damn about that secret of her, I just threated her with telling everyone for her to leave Lizbeth alone. I almost stand up and leave but the words that came out from her mouth made me want to stay and hear what she had to say.
"I don't even know why I bullied Bryony during all these years..." She started talking making me predict that I would get mad while listening to what came out of her mouth. "I guess at first she had everything... A handsome boyfriend, a family that loved her even though she wasn't really part of it."
I ignored the part of the 'handsome' boyfriend because I knew that wasn't me. I didn't know Lizbeth had an ex but I had to leave those thoughts aside to focus on the girl that had been bullying the black sheep I was in love with.
Dammit, I was in love...
Eunomia, I repeated to myself getting my lips to curve forming an smile for a couple of seconds before I focused on the drunk bully.
"You are a bad person, Hills." I told her what we both knew.
"I know, I know I'm a bad person because when Bryony's life began to screw up I smiled..." She smiled while saying that and my blood started to boil. "I smiled when I found out her mother died and I gave her a hard time about it." Hills continued smiling with a little of nostalgia... The bitch really enjoyed it. "I enjoyed it... The tears sliding down her cheeks... Her wet eyes where you could find her broken heart if you knew how to look..."
Hearing that got me so angry that my eyes turned red without me realizing it, I turned her head towards me, forcing her to look at me, maybe using too much strength, but I didn't care.
