Back from summer [ch.1]

Megumi POV:

"I can't believe it is the last year of high school!" Yuki (as the rest of the classmates call her) exclaimed as she pumped the air with her fists. "Calm down Yuki, you're acting like it's the end of the year even though we just started." Hori-san told her. "Let the girl dream." Toru laughed as he placed a hand on Yuki's shoulder. Did you think I was a part of this popular clique? Well you guessed wrong. I'm the one walking behind them, so I'm practically forced to listen in. You also might think I'm a loner, talking about them like I don't have any friends either, but you're wrong. I have best friend named Akeno Hajishi, who was my friend since middle school. I call her Akenon for a nickname. My name is Megumi Takeshita, known to others as the rich, gorgeous, smart girl who is only popular for the sake of her looks and riches. I don't even want to be popular.

Akenon calls me Shinon, from the "shita" in my last name. If your asking why she doesn't call me by her first name like I do, is because I am strict with first name basis and only allow people I love romantically (which is no one) and my family to call me by my first name. And the family one only applies because it would be weird. So no one apart from my family (my four older brothers and parents) are the only ones that call me by a nickname. Even if I had a romantic partner, I would never let them call me by a nickname. Only Megumi.

Third person POV:

Megumi came walking through the school gates with her dark blue hair tied in a braid which was tossed onto her shoulder, and her glasses covering the bottom half of both her deep black eyes as she pushed them up. Everything about her was admirable. Suddenly, her best friend Akeno came rushing toward her and wrapped her arms around her neck, causing them both to fall to the ground. "I missed you, Shinon-chan! I hated being in Hawaii without you! I hate summer when you're not there!" Akeno yelled out, still on top of Megumi, rubbing her face against hers. "Akenon, I would love to talk to you all about it," Megumi looked downwards. "But it seems we are laying on the ground, and my skirt is up." She said calmly. The fall must've caused her skirt to lift. "AAH!" Akeno looked at all the boys (and girls 😉) staring at Megumi's black, tight bloomers under her skirt. "I came prepared." Megumi thought to herself as Akeno got up and covered Megumi, putting her skirt down. "ALL OF YOU PERVS GET AWAY FROM SHINON-CHAN! DON'T YOU HAVE ANY MANNERS? HOW RUDE OF YOU!" When she wants to be, Akeno can be a scary girl. But she has a voice thing where instead of pronouncing "sh" she says it as an "s" sound which made her sound cuter than she already was.

Once that event has settled down, Akeno and Megumi walked to class together. "I'm lucky you helped me study, Shinon-chan! Or else I wouldn't be in the same class as you!" Akeno clinged to Megumi's arm as she rubbed her face against it. Megumi replied, "We can enjoy the rest of our school lives together, Akenon!" With Akeno, Megumi can be herself for once. They walked into the class together and awaited to be allocated at their seats. "I hope we get together, Shinon-chan!" Akeno whisper-yelled to Megumi, who was standing right next to her. "And we can always pair up for group projects if we don't end up together!" Megumi smiled to Akeno. "I would absolutely HATE not sitting next to you, Shinon-chan. No one deserves you more than I do." Akeno tightened her grip on Megumi's arm. "You're right about that." Megumi lat Akeno's head playfully as they waiting for their names to be called.

"Hajishi Akeno and Ishikawa Tooru." Sensei announced as he pointed to the desk Akeno and Ishikawa would be sitting in. "NO! NO! NO! NO! HOW COULD I NOT REALISE BEFORE?" Akeno yelled as she looked at all the people who have already been allocated into desks. "WE HAVE TO SIT IN BOY-GIRL PAIRS! I WON'T BE ABLE TO SIT NEXT TO SHINON-CHAN! WAA!" Akeno cried helplessly as snot came running down her nose.

When Akeno settled down, she got detention for making a scene, then Sensei continued. "Miyamura Izumi and Takeshita Megumi." He announced. Miyamura and Megumi sat in a desk and didn't talk to each other for a while until they had to work on a project. "I'm Takeshita Megumi, I look forward to working well with you." Megumi suddenly told him. "I-I'm Miyamura Izumi.." he replied back as she nodded.

"SENSEI I HAVE A QUESTION!" Akeno eagerly put up her hand as Sensei's eyebrow twitched, while he tried his best to keep a smiley face. "There is no point in raising your hand if you're gonna be incredibly loud." Sensei muttered under his breath. "Y-yes, Hajishi-san?" He spoke up. "Can we work with partners of our choice?" Akeno asked with puppy dog eyes. "No, you will work with the person next to you." Sensei prepared for the upcoming meltdown which suprisingly never came out of Akeno. She just sat there with a terrifyingly dark aura, face down on the table. "I will never be with Shinon-chan, never ever ever and ever.." Akeno continued to mutter as Tooru sat there, distancing himself from her in fear. Megumi wished she could help out Akeno, but according by the classroom rules, she couldn't leave her seat unless she was told to or have permission.

"So.. should we split the work?" Miyamura suddenly spoke to Megumi, which caught her by suprise since her focus was on Akeno. "Sure, you can ask me if you need help." Megumi proposed. "Of course, Takeshita-san." Miyamura pushed up his glasses as Megumi did the same. "I'm finished." Megumi announced to Miyamura only five minutes later. "Eh? Already?" He asked. "Yes, is there a problem? If there is I gravely apologise." Megumi said calmly as she clicked down the lid of her pen. "N-no, it's just you finished so quickly. You sure do have a talent for academics." Miyamura complimented her. "I did need some help for a while though and I was too embarrassed to ask you because I didn't know what you would think of me.." He whispered quietly. "No problem! Everyone needs a helping hand at some point." Megumi smiled, catching Miyamura off guard since this was different from her usual personality.

Megumi helped Miyamura, and they had a suprisingly great time in class and ended up finishing the work but ended up getting homework anyways "RING" the bell rang. "Do you want to finish the homework on the rooftop?" Megumi asked while packing up her stuff. "Sure, I'll meet you there." Miyamura said as he watched Megumi walk off and wave bye to him.

"Shinon-chan!" Akeno hugged Megumi tightly. "I MISSED YOU! WAA!!" She sobbed into her uniform. "Actually," Megumi braced herself. "I have to finish some work with Miyamura now. I will catch up with you later, I promise Akenon!" Megumi said as she crawled out of Akeno's grasp and ran to the rooftop. "That Miyamura boy.." a dark, scary aura surrounded Akeno once more. "IS STEALING PRECIOUS SHINON-CHAN FROM ME!! SHE SHOULD BE MINE AND ONLY MINE! WAAA!" Akeno cried.
