Megumi only had a day left before she could get discharged from the hospital, and Miyamura was there with her the whole way. Akenon occasionally came, and when she did, it seems like she was trying to battle for Megumi's affection. "Megumi-san, I can ask for some food if you're hungry." Miyamura smiled as Megumi was about to nod to his offer, but then Akenon butted in . "No! I'll do it! Nurse!" Akenon yelled and raised her hand up to call the nurse. The nurse looked young, and it seemed she had just finished medical school. She looked overwhelmed and was obviously new to the job. The lady rushed over to Akenon and asked what she needed. "My best friend Shinon-sama needs some food. Can you get some, pretty please?" Akenon pleaded as the nurse nodded politely and rushed off. Then, Akenon snuggled up to Megumi and smiled. "I can take care of you, Shinon-sama! We can run away together and ditch Miyamura!" Akenon suggested with a wide smile as Megumi chuckled a bit, not knowing that Akenon was being dead serious. Miyamura chuckled a bit too, which got on Akenon's nerves. "Thank you, Akenon." Megumi smiled at her best friend who grinned back.
Akenon had to go home about one hour later because her parents were starting to get lonely with her going to the hospital every day, since Akenon was their only child. Akenon's parents were cheery people, kind and caring. Akenon's mother, Aino Hajishi, had a menstrual problem, so the only baby she could produce was Akenon. Aino Hajishi had pink hair, just like Akenon's, that was just up to her earlobes with was astonishingly short. Akenon's mother was amazingly kind and supportive, and it has obviously made a mark on Akenon. "Okaasan!" Akenon called out to her mother as soon as she came home. "Oh, Akenon! Good to see you!"Akenon's mother ran up to hug her and guided her to the dining table, where there were heaps of Akenon's favourite snacks. "I have all your favourite sweets!" She said, which made Akenon's eyes light up. "Thanks, okaasan!" Thanked Akenon as she delved into her food, stuffing muffins and other sweets into her face one my one. Suddenly, Akenon's father, Akihito Hajishi, came waltzing into the dining room and gave a kiss on Akenon's cheek. "How's my little muffin?" He chuckled as Akenon giggled and hugged her father. "Good, Ottosan!" Akenon replied as her mother put a hand on her father's back. Akenon was quite the spoilt child. Akihito Hajishi was a vice secretary in an interior designing company which made them an above average family, but not necessarily wealthy. Akihito had the privilege of working at home, so he would see his wife and daughter every day of every hour of every minute. Aino Hajishi was a stay at home mother in her fourties, and looked after Akenon whenever she was home.
Since the couple could only have one child that was soon heading off into university, they loved babysitting the neighbourhood kids. Akenon was growing up and no longer needed her parents as much as she used to, so they got lonely. Aino and Akihito wanted a baby to look after, and they had just accepted that Akenon was growing up. So, they decided to volunteer to babysit the kids of a young couple next door. Despite their age, the newlyweds had four kids and couldn't juggle all of them at once. Akenon's parents were kind enough to help, and they wanted to take care of a child too. The children they often looked after, Kurumi (six), Haru (four), and Erika (three) were very fond of them and called them Oba (aunt) and Oji (uncle).
The doorbell rang unexpectedly as Akenon's mother Aino said she would answer and opened the door. "Oba and Oji!" All the kids yelled as they dived into Aino's arms."Oh sweet children! Anata, the kids are here!" (Anata means darling) Aino called over to her husband as she hugged the three toddlers. Akeno and her father walked over to the entrance area and greeted the children. "Oba, Oba! Can we play a game with Akeno-chan?" Erika smiled ear to ear as she pointed at Akeno and ran to her. "of course, sweetie. Do you all want to play too?" Aino asked Kurumi and Haru who nodded in excitement. "I want to team up with Akeno-chan!" Erika called dibs as Akenon carried her. "I will partner with Oba and Haru can partner with Oji! Girls versus boys!" Kurumi punched the air as Haru ran over to Akihito.
The group ended up playing candy land, with Kurumi and Aino winning in the end. "Oba is so good at candyland!" Haru' s eyes lit up as he looked at proud Aino and Kurumi. "What about me?!" Kurumi complained at her brother as Akenon's mother Aino put a hand on her shoulder to calm her down, which worked. "Do you children want to watch a movie?" Akenon's father suggested as screams of approval filled the room. "Okay then! Everybody go to the couch!" Akihito chuckled as the three children did as he said. In the first five minutes of the movie they were watching, Bambi, Erika started crying. "What's wrong, Erika-chan?" Akihito observed the crying little girl. "T-This movie is too s-s-sad!" She managed to speak between cried as Akenon hugged Erika and pat her head. "It's okay, Erika-chan! I can get you a lollipop if you want!" Akenon smiled as Erika nodded repeatedly. "I want one too!" Haru and Kurumi both said in unison as they put their hands up and straightened their backs. Oba and Oji chuckled as Akenon went to get some lollies.
When the movie was over, the kids still had heaps of energy coursing through their veins. "Can we play tag Oji? Can we, can we, can we?" Haru tugged on Akenon's father's shirt as he chuckled. "Yeah, that would be fun! Let's call over the girls, shall we?" Akihito gave Haru a piggyback as they went to the kitchen to tell Kurumi, Erika, Akenon, and his wife Aino. "Who's in for tag?!" Haru yelled as the two other toddlers giggled in glee and ran with Oji and Haru outside, Aino and Akenon slowly following. The game of tag consisted in Kurumi running as fast as lightning and dominating everyone. "How do you run that fast, Kurumi-chan?" Akenon's mother asked between pants as Kurumi beamed. "I'm just born with a talent for running. I won our preschool fundraiser race too!" Kurumi smiled with pride as everyone sat down to cool off.
While resting, all the children ended up falling asleep pretty quickly. Haru ended up sleeping on Akenon's father's lap, and he gently carried him to the sofa along with the rest of the kids, and put a blanket over all three of them. The couple and Akenon both exhaled in relief as they all chuckled a bit. "Man, those kids are hard work, but it's all worth it." Akihito smiled at the sleeping three as Aino put a hand around his waist and did the same. "Well, I better catch up on some homework." Akenon smiled as her parents did the same back, and Akenon made her way upstairs. When she got to her room, Akenon fell back onto her bed in exhaustion as she pulled out one of her shojo mangas resting on her duvet. "I'll never do homework ever, even if it means getting detention." Akenon thought to herself as she read a panel of her shojo manga. When she finished the manga, she ended up sobbing because of how emotional it was. "Why did Esperanza have to leave Raphael for Hugo? HUGO IS THE WORST LOVE INTEREST EVER, DAMMIT!" Akenon dug her face into her pillow as she came to a realisation. "Hmm... Esperanza is kind of like Shinon-sama... a quiet, beautiful flower who has yet to bloom. Oh, and Hugo is kind of like Miyamura! A big ball of trash. I'm like Raphael! A charming, cute person with a heart of gold!" Akenon smiled as the smile she had quickly turned into a frown.
"I'm not the little girl my parents want... and what if I'm not good enough for Shinon-sama too?" Akenon nestled her head into her pillow and contemplated her thoughts as she eventually drifted off to sleep
