graduation [ch.38 - bonus]

[a/n: i just remembered that I completely forgot to do a graduation chapter in between the dramatic events of the couple last chapters, so im going to add the chapter as a bonus so it doesn't interfere with the current time, and as in current timeline i mean where this book is up to, everyone is already at university. Just think of this chapter like before Miyamura knew that Megumi was going to Harvard and the whole friend group was still together.]

"Class 3-A please gather at the front of the school for your picture!" Sensei yelled as the hired photographer quickly adjusted the lenses of his camera. "Quick, quick, Akeno-chan! Fix my hair!" Yoshikawa called with a worried face as she took her graduation cap off, revealing her usual middle part absolutely ruined. "I'm here! Stay still, Yukiichan!" Akenon huffed as she came back with a hairbrush and started fixing Yoshikawa's hairline back into place.

Meanwhile, Megumi was hastily but thoroughly fixing Miyamura's tie which was partially hidden under his graduation coat. Megumi seemed awfully concentrated, and when she was done she practically dragged Miyamura over to the stands where the whole class was sitting and ready to take their photo. Akenon sighed in relief as Yoshikawa put her cap back on, feeling the same. The rows were according to height order, so Yoshikawa, Akenon, Chitose and a couple other short people were sitting in the front of the stands. Megumi was in the middle row, while Ishikawa, Itsuki, and Miyamura were on top.

One second before the photo was taken, Megumi quickly turned back and adjusted Miyamura's graduation cap to the right angle and smiled to herself, proud of how classy she had made Miyamura look. "Say cheese!" The photographer yelled as everyone did as he said, with a big smile. Even though they weren't allowed to do any poses or any weird faces, that rule was easily disobeyed. Akenon made peace signs with each of her hands, Yoshikawa made finger hearts, Toru gave the camera a big thumbs up, Miyamura did the same but with a forward fist, Ishikawa made a rockstar sign, and Megumi lifted her fingers to her head and gave herself little antennas.

"Hey mister," Akenon gently tapped the photographer on the shoulder once all the class photos were done and he was just about to pack up. "Is it okay if me and my friends took a group photo real quick?" Akenon put her puppy dog eyes to use, so the photographer easily agreed. Akenon's eyes lit up as she yelled for her friends to come over. "SHINON-SAMA! YUKIICHAN! ISHIIKUN! MIYAMURA! ITSUKI!" Akenon aggressively motioned for them to come over which they did.

"We're taking a photo together! I convinced the nice photographer man to let us!" Akenon giggled as she took Megumi by the arm and dragged her in front of the camera, with the rest of the group following. "Slow down, Akeno!" Ishikawa chuckled as he finally caught up with his girlfriend. "Make sure to smile, everyone!"  Yoshikawa reminded as they all took their places. "Three," the photographer counted down as everyone tried their best to at least get a decent friend group picture, with Akenon standing on one foot looking like a J-pop idol, Megumi linking arms with Miyamura, Itsuki and Ishikawa both pointing at the camera, and Yoshikawa sticking her tongue out playfully. "Two," everything was going well until the photo, then Akenon suddenly lost balance in her supposed J-pop pose and started toppling everyone over, and the photo was taken of the whole friend group with ecstatic and laughing faces.

Akenon was waving her arms around like a pigeon trying to regain her balance, Megumi was being shoved into Miyamura who was as red as a tomato, Itsuki's hand accidentally flicked up against Ishikawa's head, and Yuki was just about to fall forwards until she caught herself. Even though their positions in the picture were a total disaster, they all had wide smiles on all their faces. The whole group burst out into a laughing fit during and after the photo was taken.
