"Daiki, someone's at the door for you!" Daiki's mother squealed excitedly downstairs, and upstairs in his room, Daiki simply sighed and rolled his eyes. "Can't you just bring 'em up here?" Daiki yelled from inside his room, his eyes fixed on his video games. "Come down here right this instant, Daiki Higase! I have been nothing but nice to you, and all I ask is for you to greet your guest!" Daiki's mother, Kururu, yelled through the whole house as Daiki groaned and opened his room's door. "Whatever." Daiki rolled his eyes and left his room, walking down the staircase. When he got downstairs, he noticed who the surprise guest was.
Megumi Takeshita, in her most beautiful form, as always. On the other hand, Daiki was in his plain grey shirt and sweatpants, weird clothes to be in for the son of a strict and posh lady. A surge of blush then overcame Daiki's face, and he rushed back upstairs. "Daiki! Come back here, young man!" His mother yelled. The truth is, Daiki didn't normally care about looking good in front of girls. He was an attractive guy, anyway. But Megumi was different. When Daiki got to his room, he immediately combed his hair and dressed into casual wear instead of pyjamas.
The time Daiki came back downstairs, Megumi was already sharing a fresh cup of Japanese green tea with his mother. It seems that he had taken longer than expected. "There you are, Daiki!" His mother put down her cup and walked over to Daiki, giving him a death glare to make sure he didn't say anything informal to Megumi, who sat there to cold silence. "This is Megumi Takeshita, remember? Her father decided to bring her over today for some bonding time." Daiki's mother giggled a bit, and Megumi caught Daiki's stare.
Megumi then mouthed, "Your mother invited me." To Daiki, trying not to embarrass Kururu, Daiki's mom. The Higases were one of the Takeshita's business connections, and Megumi's grandfather would kill her if she ruined that relationship. See, Megumi's grandfather and Daiki's grandfather used to be very close friends. Best friends, even. But Daiki's grandfather had died a couple years after Megumi was born. "Okaasan, why did you invite Takeshita-san over?" Daiki groaned, but Megumi immediately pinched the bridge of her nose in irritation. "W-why, I did no such thing!" Kururu awkwardly chuckled while waving her hands around. "Riiiight." Daiki rolled his eyes, which earned a scoff from his mother. "Anyway," Kururu moved on, rolling her eyes as well. "Megumi is going back to Boston to graduate from Harvard in a few days." Kururu squealed as if Megumi were her own child.
"Are you coming back?" Daiki looked at Megumi with anticipation. "Hm." Megumi gave him a nod with a sweet smile, which made Daiki blush. "Whatever," Daiki crossed his arms and looked away, attempting to hide his red face. "It's not like I care." Daiki muttered as Megumi gave a little chuckle, putting a finger on her lip. "YOU'RE DOING THIS ON PURPOSE AREN'T YOU?!" Daiki yelled and pointed at Megumi, flustered. "Doing what?!" Megumi shot back crossing her arms. "You're using your charm to make me fall to your feet like every other guy in this universe!" Daiki accused Megumi as she gasped. "Well, it's not my fault I'm charming. Your words, not mine." Megumi smiled as Daiki grit his teeth. "I'm just going to leave you two to bond." Kururu chuckled awkwardly, leaving the room as Daiki and Megumi kept their intense eye contact. Within seconds, Megumi and Daiki began arguing again.
"You're just jealous of me!"
"Why would I be jealous of you? I am hotter than you after all."
"You're not!"
"Yes I am!"Over all that yelling, Daiki and Megumi didn't realise the group of people standing by the living room door. It was Akenon, Kurigato, Miyamura, Itsuki, Yoshikawa, and Ishikawa. "Sorry! We don't mean to interrupt." Akenon gave a weak laugh as Daiki made a confused face. "How did you get into my house?" He pointed at them as Megumi slapped the back of his head forcefully. "They're my friends, Daiki. Not like you'd understand what it's like to have them." Megumi groaned and rolled her eyes, and Daiki just realised that she had called him by his first name and began to blush. "I brought the bottle!" Yoshikawa yelled up an empty class coke bottle that they used to use for spin the bottle. "Nice work, Yuki!" Akenon smiled as her and Yoshikawa did some random handshake that Megumi seemed to miss out on.
