Summer break was almost over, and they were getting ready for their last semester of school. It had been four days since the incident. Megumi had been cooped up in her home, with occasional visits from Akenon. "I can't believe I'm this worked up over a boy... I'm so pathetic." Megumi mumbled as she dug her face into her pillow. "That's what happens when you're in love." Akenon added in a sing-song tone. "I-I'm not in love, Akenon! At least not anymore." Megumi sat up and took a bite out of the cupcakes Akenon brought. Akenon shuffled to sit next to her and Megumi leaned her head on Akenon's shoulder. "You're my bestest friend ever, Akenon... What would I ever do without you?" Megumi whined as Akenon rubbed Megumi's shoulder.

When Akenon left at about 10pm, Megumi didn't know what to do. Megumi opened her art closet in the first time in forever, and took out her easel, canvas, paintbrush, and paint. Her dad had taught her to paint, and since he was always away for work, she lost her passion. Megumi set up everything, and took her paintbrush in hand. She was about to put a stroke on the canvas but stopped. What was she going to paint? She decided to paint what came to mind. But the only thing she could think of was Miyamura. Megumi cleared her head, and swiped some red paint onto her paintbrush. Red, white, red, white, brown, orange, yellow, and more white. She painted a cherry blossom tree overlooked by the sunset. It was beautiful. Megumi was happy with it at first, but then she realised she had painted the exact spot where she had declared her feelings for Miyamura. Megumi sighed heavily and dug her face into her paint-stained hands, crying. Why couldn't she get him off her mind? The truth is, Megumi would never be able to take him off her mind. And she hated him for it.

"Chisote, we need to talk." Miyamura called over his friend, who was slurping a milkshake. "Yeah, Izukkun?" Chisote gleefully answered. "All this time, I've been afraid to speak up to you..." Miyamura began with a serious look on his face with a hint of sadness. "Because you were one of my first friends. I am forever grateful to you, but..." Miyamura looked down as Chisote furrowed her eyebrows the tiniest bit. "But I'm not going to let you speak for me anymore. I want to be with you, but not if you drive the people I love away from me." Miyamura clenched his fists and looked up to face Chisote, his face stern. Chisote's eyes widened as she smiled and stood up from her chair. "I see. I understand." Chisote nodded cutely as she pulled Miyamura in for a hug.

Megumi took the canvas and tossed it under her luxury bed while sighing. She looked at herself in her vanity, and for the first time in a long time, Megumi left her room walked over to her brother Kiyoshi's and opened the door. "Kiyokkun, can you do me a favour?" Megumi fiddled with her hair as Kiyoshi nodded and asked what she needed. Snip, snip, snip. Megumi's long, wavy, blue locks fell to the floor, and her hair went from elbow length to shoulder length. "Why do you want to do this again, imotocchan?" Kiyoshi asked curiously as Megumi stayed silent. "Did someone break up with you?" Kiyoshi gasped as Megumi smiled and shook her head. "It isn't like that at all..." she smiled.

The next day when Akenon came over to Megumi's house, Akenon let out the biggest gasp there ever was. "Sh-sh-sh-shinon-chan..." Akenon looked like she had just seen a ghost as Megumi touched the ends of her hair and tilted her head. "Does it really look that bad?" Megumi asked inoocently as Akenon shook her head vigorously. "Not at all! You look really pretty! I was just suprised, that's all." Akenon complimented. "I'm glad you like it." Megumi did a closed-eye smile as Akenon did the same.

"School starts again tomorrow, doesn't it?" Akenon complained as she fell back onto Megumi's bed. Megumi gave a quiet 'mhm' and nodded as Akenon groaned. "I hate school! I just wanna go to college, leave, then become one of those maids in a cat maid restaurant! No, I wanna own a cat maid restaurant!" Akenon fist bumped the air as her eyes lit up. "Concerning, but if that's what you want, go for it." Megumi smiled as she poured some tea. "Anyway, how have you and Ishikawa been going?" Megumi asked as she handed Akenon some tea. "Amazing! We go on weekly dates and we call each other every night! He's so romantic, he took me to a cat maid restaurant for our date once 'cause I told him I wanted to go!" Akenon giggled, she seemed to be lovey dovey just thinking about Ishikawa. "I see, that's good! But I think you'll need to refrain from taking Ishikawa to any weird places for dates..." Megumi chuckled awkwardly as Akenon started laughing uncontrollably.
