It has been three years since Megumi left.
Three years since both Megumi and Miyamura had their hearts utterly broken into ten million tiny pieces.
Three years since that day.
"I trust you. Come and find me someday."
.....
"Goodbye, Miyamura Izumi. Until we meet again."Megumi and Miyamura's tears both came to a halt as she gave him a warm closed eye smile, her face glistening like a goddess in the sunset. Miyamura smiled back as she slowly walked away, not looking back as her short, dark sapphire hair swayed in time of the wind. When Megumi left, Miyamura was left there on the bridge, smiling to himself as he looked up at the sunset. "I will find you again, someday. Somehow."
Miyamura hadn't come to America to visit Megumi, even though he yearned to do so. Megumi had always wondered why, but she understood that he never came for a reason. And she didn't want to think of what that reason might be. But on the second Monday of new year, all the former students of Katagiri high school would gather for the coming of age ceremony, which occurs when the former graduates reached the age of maturity, which was twenty years old. Megumi's grandfather allowed her to come back for the ceremony and visit her hometown.
But Megumi was anxious. More than anxious, even. She hadn't seen her friends or classmates for three years. Will they be different? All the wanted was to come back to her friends the exact same as when she left. Megumi didn't want any change. Not any more.
"Listen, Megumi," Megumi's grandfather spoke through the phone. "You will return for the coming of age ceremony and come straight back to America. Do you understand me? I don't need any rebellious acts from you, young lady." Hariyuki spoke sternly through the phone as Megumi let out a small, "I understand." While looking out the window of her family's private jet. Hariyuki sighed through the phone, and seemed to feel a bit harsh on her. "One day you will understand that all this is for your own good." He spoke warmly, which was unusual, but Megumi's grandfather had always tried his best to empathise with her. "I know, grandfather." Megumi replied in a dry tone as Hariyuki let out a grunt, and then hung up.
Megumi had changed, though. At least appearance wise. She had a Lumine-style haircut (Megumi didn't base it off Lumine, I just used that as a way to describe it), she no longer used glasses but contacts instead, and she always wore a white headband in her hair. Megumi was still, no, more beautiful than Aphrodite. Now that she was a woman, everyone batted their eyes to her when she was in public. Megumi's beauty turned every head and widened every eye. People would either fall in love with her right then and there or be jealous and feel envy towards her, and there was no in between.

"Oh, I'm so happy you're back, Megumi-chan!" Megumi's mother, Ai, helped tie her furisode with slight tears in her eyes. "My little girl is all grown up." Ai held her daughter by the shoulders and gave her a big hug, trying to restrain tears. "Thank you, okaasan." Megumi hugged her mother, feeling all warm and relieved to be back in her mother's embrace.
The furisode:
