"Hello, Miyamura-san," Greeted Megumi with the same poker face as always. "Thank you for coming." She sat down next to him as she opened up a book. "Hey, Takeshita-san," Miyamura built up some courage. "Will you please- I mean, you do you want to...."

"Do you want to be my friend?" He asked her, shutting his eyes. Megumi looked at him wide eyed. No one has ever asked that before. They all just have her compliments or requests, but never anything like this. Miyamura was somewhat familiar to her, and they did get along, so the only good answer is..

"Yes. I would love to be friends with you, Miyamura-san. Let's start this again, shall we?" Megumi replied. Miyamura had no idea what she meant as she turned to face him, still sitting down on her knees. She took off her glasses to fully reveal her deep black eyes, smiled, and said, "Hi. My name is Megumi Takeshita. Nice to meet you, Miyamura-kun! I hope we can be good friends!" Megumi held a hand out to Miyamura for him to shake. He was amazed. Was this a totally different person? It didn't seem like Takeshita at all.

"I want you," Megumi closed her eyes while still keep her hand out and smiling. She opened them and told him with a grin, "To see the real me before we seal our friendship." Megumi grinned as Miyamura was lost for words. Her silky dark blue hair, her perfect shaped glossy lips, and the way her deep, black eyes complimented the rest of her features was beautiful, combined with the nurturing sunlight. He was stunned that his new friend was beautiful like she was. Miyamura finally for out of his inner thoughts and shook Megumi's hand.

At the end of school, Megumi and Miyamura walked out the gate together. "Wait a second, I have to wait for Akenon." She stopped herself and Miyamura. "Akenon?" He asked with curiosity. "Hajishi Akeno is her real name. She's my best friend." She informed him. "Ah, so that's why she was throwing that scary tantrum earlier in class. She admires you a lot, doesn't she?" Miyamura smiled. "I suppose so." Megumi smiled back. Just then, Akeno came running to them. "Sorry, Shinon-chan! I had detention!" Akeno put her hands to her knees and panted. "It's okay, Akenon! You have nothing to apologise for!" Megumi replied with a smile as she pat Akeno's fluffy red hair. "Eh?!" Akeno glared at Miyamura as he scratched the back of his neck. "Oh, yeah. Miyamura-kun and I are friends now!" Megumi told a fuming, angry Akenon.

"NANIIII??!!!"

They were all walking home together with Megumi walking in between Akenon and Miyamura. "I knew it, that boy is trying to steal Shinon-chan away from me, fufu.." Akenon whispered under her breath as she sulked. "Did you say something Akenon?" Megumi asked. "NO NO NO NOT AT ALL, SPEAKING OF WHICH, LET'S ALL GO TO THAT CAFE RIGHT THERE!" Akenon yelled awkwardly while covering her face while embarrased. But underneath, she devised the perfect plan to ward off Miyamura. "Oh! Great idea Akenon! Come on, Miyamura-kun!" Megumi held his wrist and led them to the cafe, with Akenon following behind shortly.

Megumi ordered an iced chai latte with a cinnamon roll, Akenon ordered a strawberry milkshake with a banana split, and Miyamura ordered a cappucino with a slice of french toast covered in fresh raspberry jam. "I've been wanting to say.." Miyamura took a sip of his coffee. "I'm sorry for being a burden to you both," He told them while looking down. "I know that Hajishi-san wasn't that happy when she found out we were friends, and I'm sorry if it seems like I'm stealing her from you, Hajishi-san. I would like to become friends too, in time." Miyamura told both of them. He was exactly spot on to what Akenon was thinking.

"I don't know why you would ever think that. Me and Akenon were both very fond of you from when we first met. Right, Akenon?" Megumi looked at Akenon for approval. Akenon didn't answer. "No, he's right," Akenon still had a peice of banana split in her mouth but that didn't stop her from talking. "I was jealous of him being friends with you, Shinon-chan, and I was for sure not at all fond of him when we first met," Akenon revealed. "I wanted you to be all mine, Shinon-chan. All mine." Akenon's eyes were getting watery as Megumi embraced her warmly, and Akenon was wide-eyed. "Aww, Akenon. I would never replace you. I can have other friends, sure. But you're the only Akenon I have. There is no other Akenon in the whole world other than you." Megumi looked straight at Akenon. "AWW I LOVE YOU SO MUCH SHINON-CHAN! WAAAH! I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU I LO-."Akenon was interrupted. "I know Akenon. I love you too. You're my bestest friend ever."

"Miyamura-kun?" Megumi snapped her fingers As Miyamura seemed to be spacing out. "Miyamura-kun? Are you okay?" She asked as Miyamura finally came to his senses. "O-oh, yeah. I'm sorry I was just thinking for a moment." Miyamura replied. "It's okay! No need to apologise."

The next day at school, Miyamura was in the classroom early waiting for Megumi. She was student council president, so she attended to duties in the morning before classes begin, which means him and her couldn't hang out before school.

Akeno was also part of the student council and runs a few errands for the school. Not a big role, but she helps out whenever she can. Without warning, Yoshikawa-san walked into the room to see Miyamura sitting on his desk, looking out the window. Miyamura stood up, expecting it to be Megumi. "Oh, hello Take-." He looked up to see Yoshikawa instead. "Oh, I- forgive me, I thought you were someone else." Miyamura bowed down in apology. "I-I know you're waiting for Takeshita-san. You can visit her in the student council office if you w-want.." Yoshikawa suggested. "Oh, arigato." Miyamura said as he glided out the door, past Yoshikawa. "Phew, I thought he was gonna kidnap me to star in his weird adaptation of some manga." Yoshikawa sighed, sending shivers down her spine.

Miyamura opened the door to the student council office, and there he saw Kouno-san, Yanagi-san, Hori-san, Ishikawa-san, Hashiji-san, and exactly the person he was waiting for, Takeshita-san. "Why is that weirdo here?" Ishikawa whispered to Hori who just shrugged. "What a loser, I don't even think he has a dad." Ishikawa laughed as Miyamura looked down at his shoes. Unfortunately, Megumi heard them and walked right up to Miyamura, held his hand and presented it for all them to see, and yelled, "This is Miyamura-kun. And he is not a loser, and is certainly not a weirdo! He is a kind, caring and sweet person if any of you actually took the time to know him! You're sick, Ishikawa." Megumi kept her grasp on Miyamura's hand and walked off while slamming the door. "You guys suck!" Akeno yelled them while forming a letter "L" with her fingers and put her hand up to her forehead while sticking her tounge out. "Except you, Sakura and Yanagi. You guys are cute!" Akeno winked at the two as she followed Megumi and slammed the door behind her once more. "T-t-thank you?" Kouno blushed due to the compliment and that Akeno had called her by her first name.

"Don't listen to them, they're stupid." Megumi told Miyamura as they both sat on a bench below a cherry blossom. "Thank you," Miyamura looked down at his lap. "For defending me. You're one of the only people who have stuck up for me." Miyamura thanked you. "No problem, though I am curious," Megumi put a finger on her chin and tapped it. "Who were your friends before me?" Megumi asked him. "U-um... I had this one friend... Chi-san. She was my friend from preschool through middle school, though we had to separate because I attended high school here. She also moved to the country side, so I couldn't see her unless I took a three hour train ride. I visited her a bit within the first semester, but I eventually stopped visiting, and I don't know why." Miyamura revealed as Megumi gave him a warm smile. "Don't worry." that is simply all she told him, but Miyamura's eyes widened, because for some reason he found her words comforting. Like a warm refuge during a storm.

"Thank you."  Miyamura grinned back at her.
