I can't blow it. [ch.3]

"Have you heard?" One girl whispered. "Takeshita-san and creepy Miyamura-san are dating!" She gossiped to her fellow peer. "Oh my goodness really! Talk about opposites attract."

The halls were filled with whispers as Megumi wondered what was going on. Like always, Akeno ran up to her, out of breath. "Shinon-chan," she began, puffing. "People are spreading rumors and saying that y-you and Miyamura-san a-are.." Akeno had a loss for words. "We are what?" Megumi raised an eyebrow in concern.

"They are- they're saying that you guys are-..." Akeno took a big gulp. "Dating.." she said under her breath, but Megumi heard anyway. "W-what? Why so?" Megumi asked Akeno as she looked down, imagining how much trouble she has caused. "Because of what you said about him yesterday," Akeno told her. "After that, people starting assuming you two were dating." Akeno sighed. "Yushikawa also told everyone that Miyamura was waiting for in the classrom earlier yesterday, and a couple girls saw you and him sitting together on a bench outside school." Akeno looked at the poor girl. Megumi was panicking, and her mind was racing on what to do and when to do it.

"Takeshita?" Miyamura was standing behind her, being drowned other students trying to reveal their "relationship". "Oh, Miyamura. Thank goodness, we need to talk." Megumi grabbed his wrist and pulled him into en empty classroom. "People are spreading lies and saying that we're.. erm... dating." Megumi fiddled with her fingers.

"NANI??!!!"

Miyamura was a blushing mess as he lied in a corner. "N-no, Miyamura remember it's just a rumor! It's not true!" Megumi ran over to Miyamura and shook his shoulders to try to get him to function again. "Miyamura-kun please wake up, it's just some stupid lie that everyone thought up!" Megumi's eyes were shut tight in embarrasment.

When they finally entered their homeroom/classroom, all eyes were on Miyamura and Megumi, which made Megumi nervous, so she played with the end of her braid. Miyamura noticed and held her hand. They walked to the desk together, and Megumi was flustered.

During free period, two girls walked up to Miyamura and Megumi, who were sitting together. "Have you guys gone on any dates perhaps~" one girl giggles as the rest went along. Miyamura looked down to his lap. Another girl spoke. "It's suprising that you guys are even together, like a pretty girl like you and a weirdo guy like him, I would get someone better-." Megumi had enough. She got up and slammed her hands on the desk, startling the girls. "You know nothing, do you? Is there even space in that puny, unacademic brain of yours to hold even an ounce of respect for others? You know, you told me, 'if I were you, I'd fine someone better' but the thing is, you're not me and therefore CANNOT make up for my actions. You should try get your own life together before you start ruining other's!" Megumi scoldes them as they all run away as Yoshikawa, Hori, and Ishikawa watched.

"Are you sure they're dating?" Ishikawa asked Yoshikawa. "I'm sure that girl's heart is made of pure ice." He inhaled through enclosed teeth. "We'll find out," Hori squinted her eyes. "I'll try to get close to them, then ask. Boom. Confirmed." She laughed. "Brilliant plan, Hori!" Yoshikawa put a hand on her shoulder. "Now all I need is the perfect opportunity." Hori told them.

The following week, Miyamura and Megumi got closer, concerning Akeno, but she knows she doesn't need to worry.

"Class, I am announcing a grade-wide trip to Kyoto as a gift for the third years." Sensei told the class. The class started whooping and excitedly chattering, wondering where they would be staying, but Megumi was just wondering why Miyamura wasn't in class yet. Before you kids get you're hopes up," Sensei silenced them. "You're going to be put into groups, not choosing them." The mood suddenly went down as "aww"'s and "ugh"'s filled the classroom. Suddenly, an extremely handsome boy with freshly cut hair walked through the door and bowed to Sensei. "Sorry for being late." He told him. Megumi recognised those eyes, and that voice... Miyamura?

"Who are you? You might be in the wrong class." Sensei told the boy. "No, actually I'm Miyamura Izumi."

The whole class gasped as they all started chattering about how attractive he was.

"Who could've knew?"

"No way that's Miyamura-san."

"He's so hot!"

"Now he looks like a better match for Takeshita-san."

When Miyamura heard "Now he looks like a better match for Takeshita-san" he felt happy for some reason. Like he was worthy of her.

When Miyamura made his way to the desk, Megumi asked, "Why did you cut your hair and take off your glasses?" While touching and floofing his hair, which made Miyamura blush. "I-I.. wanted a change. That's all." He chuckled. "You're pretty cute for an ice queen." Miyamura thought out loud as he realised what he just said. He covered his mouth in shock as Megumi dug her face into her hands in embarrasment. Her whole face turned red. "U-uh, Megumi-san? Oh-." Miyamura strikes again accidentally. He called her by her first name. "AH! S-stop talking for a moment Miyamura-kun!" Megumi was beyond flustered. She felt like a heatwave was overcoming her body. "I'm so-." Miyamura was about to say something until Megumi put her index finger on his lips, which made Miyamura blush intensely. The bell rang, saving them both as the two ran out of the room as fast as they could, the whole class observing.

Miyamura was in the bathroom washing his face. "Ah.. that feels nice." He looked at himself in the mirror. "I need to stop being this flustered around her.. I don't want to ruin our friendship. I finally have a friend and I can't blow it."

Meanwhile, Megumi was drinking from a water bottle outside, taling in the breeze. "That was embarrasing.." she sighed. "I might've made him feel uncomfortable... I don't want to ruin our friendship. I finally have another friend and I can't blow it."
