Chapter 4 - Lunch

"Dane, andito na pala kayo," si Sir Germano ang pumutol sa katahimikang namayani samin.

"Yes, sir. Obvious naman diba," sagot ko pero binulong ko lang ang huling salita kaso mukhang narinig yun ni Anno dahil nag-angat siya ng tingin sakin habang salubong ang kilay. Tinaasan ko lang rin siya ng kilay na inirapan niya lang ang sunget naman ng isang 'to.

Umupo naman kami ni Amara sa tabi nung two idiots bali ang pwesto namin ay nasa dulo si Cyon tabi ng bintana katapat niya si Sir Germano na katabi ni Miss Serrano na katabi naman ni Anno sa side naman namin ay katabi ni Cyon si Tara then si Amara tas' ako apat kami so wala akong katapat. Nasa right side ni Cyon ang bintana kaya nakaharap kaming apat sa entrance ng cafeteria.

Pagkaupo ko ay dumako ang tingin ko sa lamesa na walang kalaman laman, "Di pa kayo umorder?" I asked them.

"Hindi pa hinihintay ka namin makakalimutan ba namin ang mahiwagang 'My treat' mo," prangkang sagot ni Tara habang ngingisi ngisi.

Pagkalabas ko ng wallet ko ay agad rin pagdakma ni Tara dito, "Snatcher ka ba? Akin na yan," Inis kong bulalas habang gulat parin bigla ba namang hablutin sayo yung wallet mo tangina may dyamante ako 'don e.

"Pwede rin. Nakita mo naman may skills ako," pagmamalaki pang sagot niya.

Siraulo talaga 'to! Every time I tried to grab my wallet back, this bitch would beat me to it, hiding it behind her like she was some kind of magician. I shot her a deadly glare, but the idiot just stared right back at me and even dared to snap at me. "Ma'am, Sir, what would you like to order?" she asked politely, as though she was the one picking up the tab.

"No, it's okay. I'll handle ours," Sir replied, clearly embarrassed. Well, he should be. Madamot na ba ako? Whatever.

But Tara wasn't about to let it go. "Oh, it's free from Dane, Sir. This is like a celebration for his return," she said, pushing it like some kind of grand event. Celebration my ass. From what I gathered, she probably just wanted to rack up a bigger bill for me to pay.

I wasn't even sure if I had enough cash, considering the last withdrawal I made was yesterday and I'd already spent it on shopping.

"Yeah, sure. Let's call it my comeback celebration, so it's on me. Go ahead, order whatever you want, ma'am, sir, and Anno," I said, trying to sound convincing. But I could see the puzzled looks on their faces. Did I say something weird?

"Anno? Who's Anno? Maxcilin?" Cyon asked, clearly confused, firing off the questions one after the other.

It was too late when I realized what I'd said. I'd slipped up and used her pet name. Shit, I'd gotten too used to it. I awkwardly glanced over at her, but she was too busy in her own little world, completely unaware that she was the topic of our conversation.

I thought she was approachable or kind, as per what our batch mates always say about her, even though she has this superior aura that will intimidate you because of her status and rank, but overall she's just an annoying girl to me.

Umiling lang ako, "What I mean is kay Ano 'di ko kasi alam name niya." I reasoned while scratching the bridge of my nose.

"Ah e ano na po sainyo sir, maam," balik na tanong ni Cyon dahil nagsisimula nanamang ang awkwardness sa pagitan naming lahat.

Mali talaga e maling mali na kasabay namin sila pa'no ba kasi sila nasama sa table namin.

"Honey Garlic Chicken with Rice lang sakin," Miss Serrano nonchalantly said.

I noticed that she was quiet kanina pa, or she was just like that pero hindi e sa pagkakatanda ko masunget siya pero hindi ganto. She was strict, but when we were with my friends, she was just like our tropa, and now I can't see her, maybe because of me.
