My eyes widened and my jaw almost dropped at his suggestion. The idea itself was already ridiculous in my opinion. Keeping two serial killers under the same roof is a disaster waiting to happen. The worst of all? I DON'T EVEN KNOW THIS GUY! aside from that fact and it hasn't been an HOUR since I got here!

"There's no need to go to that extent..." I waved my hands in the air, just above my chest.

"Please, I insist," William said.

"Why go this far? You don't even know me"

I did NOT mean for that to get out of my mouth.

William's eyes blinked a few times before speaking, then fixed his hair and promptly aligned his tie. "A gentleman wouldn't let a lady roam around town with a bleeding arm and a ripped jacket"

"Not to mention your torn shirt, love. It's nearly exposing your skin"

At this point, I'm pretty sure he's already planning to kill me at his own home. I literally pinned him on the ground earlier so what's the worse that could happen? Yes, I know thinking or saying this line is practically jinxing yourself.

"We'll be leaving at 8 PM. You can stay in the office if you'd like" William sat down on his office chair and rested his hand on his face.

"I think I need some air so I'll go out for a bit" I stood up from the velvet sofa and fixed my hair.

"Alright, I'll be here if you need me" he smiled and I left the office.

When I closed the office door, I felt my breathing get heavier and my hands started to shake. My legs started to tremble and shivers went down my spine.

What's happening to me? Am I... afraid?

My vision suddenly became blurry and I leaned on the gray walls of the restaurant. While trying to calm my breathing, my eyes landed on the 3 animatronics performing on stage. The idea of children being trapped inside the animatronics made my headache worse.

I need to get out of here...

I tried to balance myself and walked towards the front door. A cold night breeze passed over my hair and skin as the air felt clearer. I peeked at the ice cream parlor next to the pizzeria but it wasn't an ice cream parlor, it was a furniture store. The previously empty town now had people on the streets and I spotted a nearby bench in front of the pizzeria to sit down.

How am I supposed to go home? I just woke up from a ball pit— Wait, that's it! The ball pit!

I tried to stand up from my short rest but another thought passed my mind.

You're being chased by a teenager who is out to kill you. If I ever go back, what would happen to the present? Would I still be chased? There's no guarantee that the police wouldn't find me. It's like I'm running away from the consequences I need to suffer. Now, I'm stuck in the past with the same killer of the missing children. This might be the hell I need to go through.

This is.... my punishment...

I ruffled my hair and started to caress the Spring Bonnie plush in my sling bag, trying to comfort myself "Who knew I'd name you after him...?." If only I could listen to music right now because this is the perfect time to play. But if I bring out my earphones, people would be suspicious of me.

"Might as well hum a song"

The moon was brighter than what I used to see so the first song that came to mind was "Dancing in the Moonlight" covered by Toploader. I let my eyelids close and I exhale loudly before falling asleep on the bench. I didn't even care about my surroundings and just let my body rest on the wood. To my exhaustion, I felt a tear, running down my cheek.
