🎶After you've gone, and left me crying
After you've gone, there's no denying
You'll feel blue, you'll feel sad
You'll miss the dearest pal that you've ever had

I woke up to the sound of another track playing in my earphones. Sunlight passes through the beige curtains, blinding me for a couple of seconds. I tried to roll over to turn away from the bright windows, only to fall on the floor.

"Ow...."

Day two of being stuck in the past and I fell out of my bed, what the hell?

Walking towards the bathroom, I looked at myself in the mirror. I didn't have any change of clothes and I was still wearing the same blood-stained white polo. The red stains were now dark brown and as luck would have it, the white sheets of my bed were spotless. I looked over my phone to see the time.

9:01 AM?

The pizzeria opens at 10AM right? and I need to be there by 9:30, or else a knife would get plunged into my stomach.

I know Henry said I could start anytime but my arm's doing better so I suppose I could start working today. Besides, I need to think of a way to get back when I need to.

While combing my hair, I heard ambulance and police sirens outside so I peeked through the curtains and saw people crowding over the ambulance. One woman instantly collapsed and two men caught her. I didn't spot any children near the lobby or the police cars, only adults. The skies today were a bit darker than yesterday, looks like it could rain anytime.

I could hear the woman from the motel lobby, talking with the people staying beside my room. They sounded angry for some reason but I didn't want to get out of my room.

So they finally found the man from last night. That was quick.

"Can't you all shut up for 5 MINUTES?!" I shouted while covering my ears.

....

Finally...

I sighed and fixed my belongings inside my bag. My power bank still had juice so I charged my phone in the meantime. Out of the blue, I heard a knock on the door.

Shit, did they hear me?

I immediately took my knife from my boot and hid it behind my back as I looked through the peephole. It was the woman in the lobby from last night but she looked nervous. I exhaled and hid my knife back into my boots with a relieved sigh. Afterward, I unchained the locks and opened the door.

"Good morning, is there something wrong?" I asked her.

"Good morning miss (Y/N)... I'm sorry to tell you this but the police requested us to temporarily close the motel..."

Okay, she didn't hear me—Wait, close the motel?

The woman rubbed her arms repeatedly, instilled with fear "You might have seen or heard earlier but... They found a dead body on street and the police told us to empty the building so they could investigate the rooms"
