I took Henry's advice to rest outside the pizzeria. For 3 hours, I lay on the bench with my arm on the back of my head, sleeping peacefully this time. I doubt Cassidy would try to suffocate me in front of many people. What's more is that people here haven't reached the point where they'd rob someone while sleeping, they just don't give a shit and continue on with whatever they were doing. Let's say theoretically someone does, they're not gonna get anything but a strange rectangular device that hasn't been invented yet and white earphones currently plugged into my ears.

My evening lullaby was cut off by the sound of my alarm, blaring in my earphones. Tiredly, I shut it off and opened my eyes. The sky was a bit cloudy, but not enough to cover most burning stars and the shining first quarter of the moon. The air in the 80s was clearer than in my present because of the trees.

Welp, gotta get back.

Slowly, I pushed myself up and stretched, hearing satisfying cracks from my back and arms. As I did that, I accidentally breathed too hard and ended up poorly coughing. The pizzeria was nearly empty, and the only people I see inside are the janitor and Vanessa. Believe me, I feel guilty for just being dead.

I silently opened the pizzeria doors and received a loud gasp from Vanessa. "Oh my god, (Y/N)! Where have you been?! I heard from Mr. Emily that you got hurt badly!" she had her hands on my shoulders and shook me violently, but the janitor told her to stop.

"I was sleeping outside... You guys didn't see me?" I whispered. It still hurts to speak normally, so I believe this should heal up tomorrow. I mean, I don't know, I didn't study medicine. "I apologize for not helping around though..."

Vanessa patted my shoulder with a relieved sigh and said, "Silly, what are you apologizing for? It's not your fault some... person decided to strangle you in the bathroom. Passing out isn't either so it's completely fine." Her smile was contagious. Oh boy, if you knew a ghost was the criminal, you'd faint from shock.

I decided to pay William a visit in his office to check up on him after talking to those two and of course, I knocked first. "William? Can I come in?" I asked, yet there was only silence, a long one. I gritted my teeth together and pushed the door open, now spotting a sleeping William with his arms crossed on his chest. Oh my, he really is napping.

Chris wasn't in the room anymore, nor do I feel a single presence with us anyway. The atmosphere here could be considered peaceful, yet a little unnatural. Up close, William had dried tears on his cheeks as if he cried himself to sleep. He's lucky to have seen his son again, I've been wishing to see my mother for the longest time, at least in a dream. It never happens, however, only nightmares or dreamless slumbers.

I tapped his shoulder repeatedly and said "Hey uh... It's already 7:20 PM. The pizzeria's closing soon". He said nothing, indicating the deep sleep he was having currently. I absolutely have no idea how to wake someone up in a deep sleep, and I definitely don't want to slap the shit out of this guy... not that I want to. If only I could use the alarm on my phone.

There was one method I thought of that could work, and so I tried it; pinching both sides of his face. Guess what? It worked like a charm. At least it's not a slap in the face, right? "Gosh, that took a while" I mumbled with a sigh as the blue-eyed individual agitatedly observed his surroundings, then at me.

"(Y/N)? What are you doing?" William quickly noticed my cold hands on his face, but I got myself stuck in a trance for a few seconds, thinking how the hell does he have flawless skin? Would be great if he shared his skin routine to be honest. "Are you planning to kiss me?" he abruptly said with a cheeky grin, and that was the thing that brought me back to reality.
