+++++ (Y/N)'s POV +++++

🎶Days seem sometimes as if they'll never end
Sun digs its heels to taunt you
But after sunlit days, one thing stays the same
Rises the moon

Going home with all of my stuff covered in white sheets made me realize again just how long I was gone from my original timeline. The owner must've covered them before, and now they're back to their original spots, just as I remembered my home. It took me a total of three days actually, and most of the time, I was spacing out on my couch, thinking about the past...

I was whistling along to the phone radio's tunes until someone knocked on my door, so I got up and timidly walked towards the foyer. Maybe they found it strange the quiet unit was suddenly occupied again. When I peeked through the peephole, I saw a small woman or an old lady, I'm not too sure.

"Who is it?" I asked, earning a jolt.

"Oh dear, someone is actually inside," she said. "Um... can I have a word with you? I'm the new landlord of this building."

A new landlord eh? I guess that explains the different decorations on the first unit's front door and window. The old lady didn't give off an alarming feeling, so I unlocked the door to talk properly. At first glance, she looked very familiar to me. When she took one glimpse at me, she froze, nearly dropping the pink shawl around her shoulders but I caught it just in time.

"(M/N)....?" she muttered in disbelief. "You look just like her...."

"How... How do you know my mom?" I questioned with furrowed brows, and that's when it clicked. "Wait... Gran Gran?!"

"(Y/N)?!"

Our jaws dropped and wasted no second pulling each other into a tight embrace. This old lady was a close friend of my mother's since she was a teenager, her name being Nelly or Grandma Nelly. She isn't my biological grandmother, but I remember being close to her as a child. She used to own a floral shop in Hurricane but had to leave because of family issues.

Her brown hair already had several white streaks from old age, but she was still cute, especially in her matching pink cardigan and muumuu dress. She still smelled like newly baked cookies.

"Aww... my sweet baby. It's been 13 years, I missed you so much," she whispered to my ear, running her gentle hand on my back. "You've grown, and you still give the best hugs."

"I'm sorry I didn't realize it was you sooner," I said.

"Don't apologize, it's alright. We all age," the old woman responded as we parted. "Such ethereal eyes, I always knew purple suited you."

I replied with my words of gratitude and gestured for her to enter my apartment since it was too hot outside. Gran Gran found herself smiling while she explored the apartment unit. This was the same apartment unit my mother and I used to live in, so I can say I've lived here my entire life. The reason I got to keep this to myself was because of my mom's request to the previous landlord that when something happens to her, they'd let me stay, regardless if I was a minor.

She sat on the couch and wanted me to be next to her, of course I followed. Grandma Nelly was given this complex by the old landlord I used to pay my rent to after he needed to move to another country. So far, it's her 8th month and she's been managing well. The old owner told her not to touch this unit, even if years had gone by after my sudden disappearance. As expected, she asked why I went missing and at the same time, she spotted the large scars on my arm.

I couldn't just say I was transported to the past after being chased by a furious teenager and experiencing hardships there, so I had to come up with a lie on the spot. It was no trouble for me to make a story, but I hated the idea of lying to Gran Gran.
