+++++ William's POV +++++

🎶Say you don't know me or recognize my face
Say you don't care who goes to that kind of place
Knee deep in the hoopla, sinking in your fight
Too many runaways eating up the night

🎶Marconi plays the mamba, listen to the radio, don't you remember?
We built this city, we built this city on rock and roll

The 1 PM afternoon tunes of the radio erupted throughout the restaurant while the animatronics on stage danced to the beat. Damp air whistled outside the windows due to the recent rain earlier, and the checkered floors needed to be cleaned constantly to prevent mudding and children from crashing their heads against the table corners.

Like always, parents chose to have a conversation with me and ask how Clara and I have been. Her recent return to Hurricane was the top gossip, and she surely adored the popularity. Regardless, I knew it wasn't too recent, for (Y/N) and Clara met before when the darling was 2 weeks in with us. But I find it strange and the woman never explained to me what caused her to arrive. Aside from her selfish reasons, Clara herself said (Y/N) was the reason why she even thought of stepping foot here, so there should be something else.

"Hey kid! Read the sign!" Vanessa yelled, pointing at a yellow "Caution: Wet Floor" sign in the hallway. "Jeezus, they had too much sugar from that candy bowl." Her arms went tightly folded, blowing her side bangs away from her face.

"Don't forget the cake," Neil gestured at a tall sponge dessert at the center of a table. "This party started almost 3 hours ago, right?"

"Yeah, and Luis is still in the kitchen, it's weird," she said, now pouting in the kitchen's direction. "I'm checking up on him, be right back."

"Don't do anything else, Ness," the brunette grinned, and the blonde smacked his arm before departing the main party room. I suppose those two have finally realized their feelings for each other. Now normally, work romance is prohibited, but I broke that rule long ago, despite being the person who added it to our contracts.

Neil and I stayed at the party, watching critters run around as parents stared at the animatronics in boredom. The man heavily sighed with his back slouched and spoke, "Well don't you look tired."

"I could say the same for you," I replied. "How is... Valentine doing, by the way?"

He raised a brow, "Still exhausted, but why are you asking me this?"

"I'm simply worried, nothing more."

"I think you should focus on your current lover," he grew irritated. "What happened to the part where we don't interfere with relationships?"

"You're getting defensive there, old sport," I snickered. It hasn't been 5 minutes since Vanessa left, and I became impatient. With my hands inside my pockets, I walked towards the kitchen counter, seeing Luis talking over the telephone. And Vanessa? Well, she has her jaw on the floor.

"Oh come on! Let me have the phone already!" The blonde exclaimed. "You've had your turn!"

"Yeah yeah, gimme a minute," Luis ignored her. "—Then there was this kid who nearly vomited all over the floor and his friend was panicking because he thought he was gonna pay 500 bucks for it. I don't know if they ate some brownies or some shit. I swear they ate something—PFFT HAHAHA! I KNOW RIGHT?!"

Vanessa's eye twitched, repeatedly tapping the tip of her shoe on the floor, and stole the phone. "Hey! I was using that!" Luis frowned, incapable to snatch it back. "Heyyyyy girl! Been a long time....! I MISSED YOUUUU!" The woman was almost brought to tears that she could embrace the small device. Shortly, Neil arrived, his face in a constant deadpan and Luis waved a short hello to both of us. We still had spare time on our hands, so I won't be scolding them.
