===== Timeskip 5:01 AM =====
A loud clap of thunder and a bright flash of light jolted me from my untroubled sleep. I almost screamed, thank goodness I didn't. The outside skies resembled a deep ocean as if the world was upside down. My heart pounded out of my chest from surprise, there was no going back to sleep now.
My feet dangled at the edge of the bed as I unplugged my phone charger from the socket. The phone only serves as my alarm here, yet everything that's been happening around me has kept me busy. I guess it's a good break for my eyes from the radiation and shit, yet a hassle for my muscles because of the amount of running I've done. This is like PhysEd but with knives.
I stretched my limbs and draped a shorter blanket over my shoulders to shield me from the cold, then stepped into the hallway with my fully charged phone in my pocket. Not a single lamp of light passed through the gaps in Michael and William's rooms. They don't wake up 'til 7 AM so I still have 2 hours to do whatever, so I chose to hang out in the living room.
I passed by the kitchen to make myself a cup of coffee and noticed a few books and notebooks on the counter; English, Math, and Science. The English subject book was bookmarked on a specific page with a pencil, concerning synonyms and simple vocabulary, yet there were unanswered items. I think Michael tried to use his notes as a reference.
Obviously, I was bored since the coffee maker takes a while to brew itself, so I sat on the barstool and grabbed the pencil to write in the kid's notebook. Schoolwork had always been part of my daily routine. Sometimes I find them irritating or boring, but thanks to it, I got to improve my shitty handwriting in middle school. Damn essays, giving me writer's callus.
🎶Don't want to close my eyes
I don't want to fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you baby
And I don't want to miss a thing
🎶'Cause even when I dream of you
The sweetest dream will never do
I'd still miss you baby
And I don't want to miss a thing
Whilst writing, I sang with the tunes playing from my phone since music helps me focus. I made sure to lower the volume so I don't wake anyone up. The temptation to doodle on the blank pages was there, but I pinched my forearm before I even planned what to put. Naturally, our handwritings are far apart so all I could write were synonyms on whatever word was written that needed answers on a separate paper.
The machine chimed the ending of its brewing process, therefore I dropped the writing tool on the open papers to prepare my daily dose of caffeine. I decided to make another for William as well and a hot chocolate for Michael an hour later.
Boredom quickly struck me after I prepared the food and everything. I still had an hour and a half left to spare so I used it for a hot shower, then wore a black shirt underneath the new denim jacket I bought and a pair of straight jeans. The big gash on my arm seems to be getting better too. Now it's 30 minutes left and no one has come down yet, and the sun's not out... yet.
"Jeez, it's really dark out today," I mumbled to myself while looking out the window, then went back to the kitchen bar to sip caffeine. My eyes stared off the distance with my head empty, just coffee.
"Good morning, sweetheart~" a man purred in my ear. Thanks to me getting distracted by the raindrops by the window, I didn't notice William's arms enveloped just above my waist in a tight manner. Also, sweetheart? Another new nickname for me? Not that I'm complaining.
"You really like doing this, don't you?" I raised a brow.
"Doing what?"
"Hugging"
