After 30 minutes, I managed to finish my sandwich. I felt warm and fuzzy inside when I was eating it but I didn't know what to call that feeling, so I brushed my thoughts and stood up, now heading to the bathroom. I also noticed how there is only one entrance to this gigantic house, not even a backdoor. There is a door that leads to the basement though... which is not a good place to store bodies if you have wooded floors. William has the intellect, I'm sure he wouldn't think of hiding skeletons in there—Da heck, am I seriously acknowledging a murderer's methods? My god (Y/N), you've been here for 3 days in total!
I went upstairs and walked through the hallways while fixing my hair because I kept ruffling it in confusion. Suddenly, I stopped in my tracks in front of the plain white door with the nameplate "Chris". It felt like something is drawing me toward the room. Subconsciously, I was reaching for the doorknob of the white door. Fortunately, I snapped back to reality and pulled my hand away. What the hell are you doing (Y/N)? Snap out of it!
I shook my head and speed-walked to the end of the hall, finally reaching the bathroom door. I tried opening it but...
"Why is it locked?" I muttered. It's not like anyone's inside. I attempted to push the door open but to no avail, pulling it wasn't an option either. I sighed and defeat and walked down the empty halls again. There is one more bathroom, and that's in William's room.
After only a few steps, I was already in front of William's room. I hesitantly reached for the knob and twisted it. To my surprise, it wasn't locked at all, was this intentional? I peeked inside the room and saw purple bedsheets and purple curtains, but the walls were white. It was larger than the guest room and it had two closets beside the white windows. Again with the purple.
From the left, there was a wooden door that I assumed was the bathroom. I entered the room and gently closed the door, my eyes kept wandering around instead of going straight. At the top of the bedside cabinet, I saw a picture of five people that looked like a family picture.
To my curiosity, I looked closer at the family picture and I was left dumbfounded.
There were three kids; one was a younger version of Michael who was wearing a sleeveless gray shirt. On his right was a brown-haired boy with cowlick hair and a black shirt with gray stripes, hugging a yellow bear. Behind Michael and the boy was William wearing a purple button-up shirt with a large grin on his face. On the far left was a girl with ginger hair and a large pink bow on her head who resembled the little girl "Lizzie" from the present.
There was a woman sitting beside William who had wavy blonde hair and green eyes wearing an orchid-patterned yellow sundress. She had pearl earrings that matched her pearl necklace and gave off the warmest smile among the group.
It was Clara.
Everything about the woman matched my memory of Clara, there was not a single difference. Assuming that this is the same Clara from the Moon Motel and the only person I haven't seen in person is this little boy with gray stripes, that could mean that he's the same son she lost. The girl with the pink bow must be Elizabeth or "Lizzie" and the boy with cowlick hair must be... Chris? So that means I'm being drawn to a dead child's room...?
The thought of it made me shiver in fear. I rubbed both of my arms and calmed myself down. My breath was shaky but I cleared my throat and immediately ran to the bathroom.
The bathroom mirror was foggy so I had to wipe it off. I could finally see my reflection but something was off about the mirror. There was small handwriting on the sides that could only be seen when the mirror is fogged. I lightly exhaled and finally saw the writings.
