Where am I...?-Wait... Where's Chris...?
"Aƚ ƚԋιʂ ʋҽɾყ ɱσɱҽɳƚ, ყσυ αɾҽ ιɳ ზҽƚɯҽҽɳ ʅιϝҽ αɳԃ ԃҽαƚԋ"
A voice started speaking from my left, it was a young and menacing voice of a little girl. I tried letting out a sound but there was nothing. I slowly open my eyes and only saw pitch black, my eyes are open, however. I frantically searched around the blackness and I couldn't feel anything, not even my own body but I knew that I was lying on the ground. It feels so... cold.
"Wԋყ ԃσ ყσυ ƈʅιɳɠ ƚσ ʅιϝҽ...?"
"Wԋαƚ ԃɾιʋҽʂ ყσυ?"
I don't know...
"Wԋყ ԃσ ყσυ ƚԋιɳƙ σƚԋҽɾʂ ƈʅιɳɠ ƚσ ʅιϝҽ?"
For different reasons...?
In a matter of seconds, I could feel my hands and body again but it was different. I sat up from the pitch-black floor and saw a glowing ball a few steps away from me. I was about to stand up but something was holding me back. Chains. Rows of thick silver chains were buckled around my wrists with 5 on my right and 4 on the other.
"Wԋαƚ ԃσ ყσυ ʂҽҽ?"
"A crystal ball?"
To my surprise, I heard my own voice coming out of my mouth as it echoes around the void. I stood up and approached the ball on the floor, feeling and hearing every clank of the heavy chains. My hand reached for the glowing circular object and held it against my chest-Wait... my heart... Why can't I feel it beating?
"Rιɠԋƚ ɳσɯ, ყσυɾ ზσԃყ ιʂ ... ʅιϝҽʅҽʂʂ"
Oh... that means...
I'm dead... aren't I?
"Tԋҽ σɳҽ ყσυ αɾҽ ԋσʅԃιɳɠ ιʂ ყσυɾ ֆօʊʟ..."
I look at the emitting glow of the ball and noticed that it started to fade. My heart began to race in fear of the glow dying in the dark. The object was warm yet cold at the same time. I placed my other hand on its side and felt warmth emitting from it, but it was faint.
"Dσ ყσυ ʂҽҽ ιƚʂ ϝʅιƈƙҽɾιɳɠ ʅιɠԋƚ?"
"Yeah"
"Tԋαƚ ιʂ ԋσɯ ɯҽαƙ ყσυɾ ɯιʅʅ ƚσ ʅιʋҽ ιʂ" Her tone changed once more. "Sσ ʅҽƚ ɱҽ αʂƙ ყσυ αɠαιɳ..."
"Wԋყ ԃσ ყσυ ƈʅιɳɠ ƚσ ʅιϝҽ?"
The silence in the pitch-black void was deafening and eerie. There wasn't a single light except for the glowing ball with small white shimmers. Under my shoes was just an endless void of darkness. The impending fright of hearing about dying was there but...
"I'm... not even certain how I'm supposed to feel right now. Should I be scared because it's the end? Should I be relieved because it's finally my end?"
"...ƚԋαƚ'ʂ αɳ υɳυʂυαʅ αɳʂɯҽɾ ϝɾσɱ ʂσɱҽσɳҽ ʂσ ყσυɳɠ." the voice sounded surprised, can't blame them honestly. "Ⴆυƚ ƚԋҽɳ αɠαιɳ, ι'ʋҽ ʂҽҽɳ ɯԋαƚ ɠσҽʂ ƚԋɾσυɠԋ ყσυɾ ԋҽαԃ ɯԋιʅҽ ყσυ ɯҽɾҽ υɳƈσɳʂcισυʂ; death, survival, and murder." The girl's voice became clearer all of the sudden.
"I would say you're the same as the man who killed me, but no, you two are different," she said, but it sounded like she was behind me. When I looked over my shoulder, a black, tall, and slender figure floated that had a white mask with rosy cheeks and blue stripes running down the hollow eyes. There were three buttons on the chest and stripes of black and white around the arms. It was a marionette but with no strings. "He is driven by madness and you are driven by continuance. A contradiction from what you said earlier"
