It took a little bit longer than expected for you and Steve to finally fly over to London. Since it wasn't SHIELD business and was pleasure both you and Steve needed passports. Steve hadn't had his updated since the war, and you didn't have one full stop.

Fury pulled a few strings though and got you both sorted. Steve could still remember the face of the guy who checked them. Not believing Steve was 94 and you were born in 1962. Thankfully someone else recognised the both of you from the news and was able to explain it.

On the flight over Steve's mind kept flickering back and forth. Unsure whether this was a good idea or not. Not knowing if he was excited or nervous. If you hadn't been there with him he probably would have ducked out already.

But here he was walking through the halls of a care home with Peggy's son. He had told Steve about Peggy's condition, saying that she might not even remember him. But she still had her good days when her mind was as sharp as a tact.

When her son opened the door Steve had to try and not looked so shocked. There she was, his first love. Despite her grey hair and wrinkled skin, Steve still saw same the brown haired, red lipped bombshell he knew and loved.

"Hey mum, you have a visitor, Steve the guy I told you about" her son says walking in.

Peggy looked over at Steve, their eyes meeting. The look of shock clearly present on her face.

"Steve, oh my goodness Steve" she gasps her hand shaking as it moved to her mouth.

"Hey peg, long time no see" Steve says forcing a smile as he moved further into the room.

"When they told me you were alive I didn't believe it but here you are" Peggy sighs her voice shaky, tears forming in the corner of her eyes.

"I couldn't leave ya, not when you still owe me a dance" Steve says as he sits down beside her.

Peggy chuckles shaking her head slightly "well I might be a bit old for that now, you however look like you haven't aged a day" she says with a playful smirk.

"Yeah, guess being a capsicle helped with that" Steve chuckles making Peggy laugh.

"Sounds like something Howard would say" she points out smiling over at him.

"Well his son, Tony, was the one who coined it" Steve explains with a small chuckle.

"Oh how is Tony I haven't seen him since he was a young adult" Peggy asks.

"Good I think, a lot like his father I have to say" Steve tells her making her smile.

Silence falls between the pair, Steve noticing how Peggy's smile faded and she began to look over at him sadly.

"I wish you had gotten to live your life" she sighs shaking her head.

"Me too, waking up in this new world has been disorientating and confusing not sure if I truly belong" Steve explains trying not to make it sound too depressing.

"Just promise me you'll live it now" she says reaching out to grab his hand squeezing it slightly.

"Of course Peg" he promises.

"I mean it, find a friend or someone to help you through it, someone to lean on" she presses.

Steve chuckles slightly "actually I already have" he tells her.

"A girl by any chance, gosh you move on quickly" Peggy says playfully making Steve laugh.

"We're just friends, she's Thor's half-sister. She was born on earth but grew up on Asgard. After the battle in New York she decided to stay, so we've been learning about this new world together" Steve explains, noticing Peggy smirk over at him.
