Chapter 37: Field Trip to Sokovia

"Guys I think we have him" Tony says walking into the communal area where everyone was relaxing.

"Strucker?" Steve asks sitting up.

"No a mariachi band" Tony deadpans.

"Yes Strucker, JARVIS pull up the video you found" Tony continues ignoring the eye roll he got from Steve.

"Hey I was watching that!" Clint complained when the TV program you were all watching was replaced by a grainy video.

You all watched as what looked like weapon testing took place in the video. Whoever was filming it was a long distance away but you could still see the large flashes of blue energy.

"That looks like beams from the sceptre" Nat says taking a closer look at the footage.

"That must be it, there's no other energy source on earth that could power that" you say looking over at Thor who nods in agreement.

"Where is this footage from?" Steve asks.

"A small country called Sokovia, land locked county that borders Cech Republic and Slovakia" Tony explains pulling up a map onto the screen.

"Hasn't that been war torn for years?" Clint asks.

"Yeah, they don't particularly like the US" Bruce answers.

"Well it looks like the base is far enough out of the city, we keep the fight there try and avoid an unnecessary conflict, both literally and politically" Steve sighs.

"I can have the iron legion on standby ready to evacuate people if necessary" Tony adds.

"Good everyone get an early night, we head out in the morning" Steve says standing up.

Everyone murmurs in agreement heading off to make sure their equipment was ready and get some rest. Steve heading off to go plan the mission.

"Finally, hopefully this brings an end to this man hunt" Thor sighs looking over at you.

"Hope so, what will you do once we have it back?" You ask him.

"Probably go back to Jane, check on the 9 realms" he says with a small shrug of his shoulders.

"Well as long as you visit me often" you say with a playful smirk.

"Of course Sister, someone has to keep an eye on you" Thor laughs wrapping arm around your shoulders and rubbing the top of your head with his fist.

You move out of his grasp pushing him away "forget it, don't want you to anymore, go leave now" you laugh.

"Tough luck" he chuckles walking away.

You shake your head at him before heading off to go find Steve. You quickly find him in his office looking over maps of the base and area.

"Hey, you should rest too" you say wrapping an arm around his waist.

"I know it shouldn't take me too long, I promise" he sighs wrapping his arm around you and kissing the top of your head.

"So what you thinking?" You ask looking down at the map.

"Well the base is quite large so it's hard to know exactly where the sceptre is, it's likely to be heavily guarded too" he sighs.

"So the main fight is gonna be outside" you say.

"Exactly, hopefully we can distract the guards enough to let someone sneak in" Steve says pointing out the guard towers on the map.

"Tony would be a good one, got the fire power to get in. The tech to scan the place find the sceptre quickly, leaves enough fire power outside to distract the guards" you suggest.
