Chapter 42: Son of a bitch

"Ultron knows we're coming, odds are we'll be riding into heavy fire and that's what we signed up for, but the people of Sokovia, they didn't" Steve says glancing over at the twins.

"So, our priority is getting them out, all they want is to live their lives in peace and that's not gonna happen today, but we can do our best to protect them and we can get the job done, we find out what Ultron's been building, we find Romanoff and we clear the field, keep the fight between us" he continues before taking a deep breath.

"Ultron thinks we're monsters, that we're what's wrong with the world, this isn't just about beating him it's about whether he's right" he finishes.

"What's the plan cap?" Tony asks.

"Thor you take Banner and go find Nat, she's at the base if she's okay bring her because we need all the help we can get, Tony and Vision you find Ultron" Steve says turning to each team member.

"He's probably going to be at the church" Wanda pipes up.

"Good, the last 5 will work on getting the civilians out of the city, it'll be early morning when we get there so we'll have a lot of people to wake up" Steve says nodding his head.

Once in Sokovian airspace Thor, Bruce, Tony and Vision all left to carry out their half of the plan. While the rest of you landed the jet on the streets of the city.

As you climbed off the jet you noticed a large spray painted mural of Captain America but the eyes were red and you didn't need to speak Sokovian to understand the word underneath. You turn to see Steve notice the painting too dropping his shoulders before chucking his helmet back on the jet. While you weren't happy he was less protected, you understood why.

"The bridge is the main way out of the city" Wanda tells you.

"We can cover the others" Pietro adds.

"Good, we'll take the bridge" you say looking over at Steve.

"Wake everyone up" Steve tells the two of them before Pietro wizzes off with wanda.

"Not bad" Clint says nodding to the graffiti of Cap.

"Not funny Barton" you say with a small glare.

Steve just sighs and the two of you head over to the main bridge. When you got there civilians were already starting to head out of town. Steve was directing all the vehicles while you directed those that were on foot. Due to the large volume of people there was already traffic and you were starting to think people should just leave their cars.

Not that any of them listened to you.

Suddenly robots started crawling up from the ground like zombies shooting at any civilian in sight.

"Everyone find cover!" You shout before taking off to attack the robots in the air.

You grabbed one and used it to blast other robots around before ripping it in half. You then saw robots cornering civilians against a wall. You landed in front of them blasting the robots back with ice turning them all into ice statues.

"Go! Get out of here!" You shout to the civilians behind you.

One robot jumped at you from behind so you took off again. You grab it pulling it over your shoulder before throwing it to the ground sending a large icicle down with it impaling the robot.

As you land back down on the ground you heard a large rumbling noise and the ground shakes below you making you lose your footing.

"Whoa" you mutter regaining your footing.
