Chapter 92: Teething Problems

It had been nearly two months since the snap that brought everyone back and it was a day Steve had been secretly dreading for weeks. He knew it was coming, that it was the right thing to do for everyone, but it still sucked.

"well that's the last of it" Steve sighs dusting off his hands as he jumped down from the moving van.

"thank you Steve, it would have taken hours if it wasn't for you" Roberta smiles gratefully as she walks over to hug him.

"I'll try not to be offended by that" a man huffed behind her, arms crossed over his chest.

"oh shut it Frank you know what I mean," Roberta says rolling her eyes at him.

"a thank you would still be nice after driving up the length of the country to help move you back down to Florida" Frank points out.

"Thank you Frank" Roberta sighs "I'd forgotten how grumpy you could get" she mutters under her breath.

"you guys all done?" you ask walking out of the house, JJ and Mary following behind you.

"yep all sorted, we should probably get on the road soon we might be able to reach DC by nightfall," Frank says wiping his hands on a rag as he walked over.

"you're going already?" JJ pouts looking up at Roberta.

"yeah I am little man but I promise you can visit whenever you like, and I'll try and come up and visit too," Roberta says hugging him tightly.

"Frank can't we stay longer" Mary whines walking over to her uncle "JJ has the best legos and a dog"

"and we have a one-eyed cat at home who probably wants to get back to his ping pong balls" Frank points out.

"but I gave Bonnie ping pong balls before we left" Mary argues.

"the answer is no squirt, now go say goodbye to JJ," Frank says putting his hand on top of Mary's head spinning her around and pushing her back towards JJ, Mary letting out a loud groan of annoyance.

"guess that means I should say my goodbyes too," Roberta says with a sad smile as she walks over to Steve "It's been lovely being your neighbour the past few years, and I'm so happy for you" she smiles hugging him tightly "promise to keep in touch"

"I promise, thank you so much for helping us out, I don't know what I would have done" Steve sighs shaking his head.

"probably burnt the place to the ground" Roberta smirks making Steve laugh and nod his head "But don't worry I've asked Tanya to keep me informed"

Roberta steps away to go say goodbye to you and JJ as Steve steps towards Frank holding his hand out "It was great meeting you Frank, Roberta talked about you a lot" Steve said shaking Frank's hand.

A small smile tugged at Frank's lips as he shook Steve's hand "Yeah she's great, real life saver" Frank nods.

"you could say that again," Steve says making both men chuckle "And please visit when you can, it's nice to see the kids getting along," he says nodding to the kids who were saying goodbye to each other.

"yeah and the same goes for you, Florida is a nice place if you don't mind the humidity and mosquitos, and alligators," Frank says looking less convinced as he spoke "but overall great place, with you know Disneyworld"

Steve laughs nodding his head "Oh we'll definitely be making a visit at some point, JJ's a big Disney fan"

Franks smiles nodding his head "They do make good movies" he admits.
