You and Steve were sitting eating lunch out on the balcony, enjoying the quiet. Well as much as you could. At 36 weeks you were very large now and starting to feel more and more uncomfortable. You weren't sleeping well, your back hurt a lot of the time. You were no way near as agile as you'd like to be which wasn't helpful considering your constant urge to clean and organise.
"You're frowning doll" Steve points out pulling you from your train of thought.
"No I'm not" you frown picking up the empty plates from the table.
"Doll leave them I'll do them" Steve sighs trying to stop you.
"If that was true you would have done them already, we stopped eating ages ago" you grumbled carrying the plates into the kitchen.
Steve sighs standing up and following you into the kitchen where he found you washing them up. You then went to wipe down the sides, but Steve intervened stopping you before you had the chance.
"Leave it, I'll do it I promise, I'm sorry I didn't bring the plates in earlier I didn't realise it was bothering you" Steve apologises putting a comforting hand on your arm.
"I'm fine I'll do it," you say shaking your head as you turned away but Steve didn't miss the small sniffle.
"C'mere princess" Steve sighed pulling you into his embrace before you could protest.
He heard you let out a shaky breath before burying your head in his chest as best as you could with the bump. Steve rubbed your back soothingly, feeling how tense you were.
"You should go get some rest princess, I know you didn't sleep well last night and I can feel how tense you are," Steve says gently after a few moments.
"But there's so much I need to do" you sigh tiredly.
"Write it down on a list and I'll do it" Steve suggests running his hand up and down your arms.
"You promise you'll do it properly," you say looking up at him.
"Swear on my life" Steve promises hand over his heart.
"Okay you can start with cleaning the kitchen counters, and I'll make a list of everything else" you agree with a sigh.
"Is there anything else you want me to do?" Steve asks you.
"Just hold me" you sigh tiredly.
"You don't have to tell me twice, how about we go lie down until you fall asleep and then I'll clean the entire apartment" Steve suggests earning a small smile.
"Thank you Steve, I'm sorry if I'm being unreasonable" you apologise with a sigh.
"Hey, it's okay, you don't need to apologise, you're growing a whole new human, our little boy, so you get to be unreasonable" Steve reassures you making you chuckle quietly.
"C'mon let's go lie down," Steve says leading you into the bedroom.
You lay down in bed, Steve laying down behind you. Wrapping his arm around you, kissing your shoulder. He held you until he was certain you were fast asleep. Giving you one last kiss on the shoulder before sneaking out of bed.
The first thing he sorted was cleaning the entire kitchen from top to bottom. He cleaned areas that didn't need cleaning. He did all the laundry, he even went as far as reorganising the bookshelf. Anything he thought could have been bothering you he fixed.
You re-emerge from the bedroom a couple of hours later with a soft yawn. Your eyes widened when you saw just how clean the apartment was and how much Steve had done. He was currently sitting on the couch folding up all the baby clothes.
