Chapter 8: she is just sleeping🎀

Dolores POV

I opened my door and led Mariano in. "Feels like just yesterday I was in here" he said trying to make small talk. "You were just here yesterday" I said with a cold tone. He smiled awkwardly.

I pointed to the pile of clothes he had left in our walk in closet. He was always a messy guy so my room was constantly a mess. I hadn't bothered to pick them up anymore since we were not together anymore. The next week would be the week we sign the Divorce papers.

I got him one of my old suitcases. I hadn't used it since my honeymoon which was 2 years ago.I didn't want to be reminded of that week so I just gave it to him "it's pretty big so that should be enough for your things" 

He smiled at me. My heart melted at his sweet gesture. I remembered why I married him in the first place. I smiled back at him. He then started making an even bigger mess in my drawers.

 Now I remember why I divorced him. He quickly packed and went outside. I could hear Camilo listening to me along with Antonio. I chuckled lightly and put my index finger on my lips. I pointed to the door and he got the hint.  I decided to play a little joke on them. I opened the door and put my head on Mariano's chest. 

Falling into my trap, they opened the door and saw me embracing my ex. Camilo loudly gasped and Antonio gave Mariano the stink eye. "Guys I'm just joking!" I laughed while Mariano was a little sad that I pulled away.

I could see his sad expression so I gently patted his back.

Antonio's Tucan flew to his shoulder. "Uh huh...oh no...Dolores we need to get to mirabel's room right now" I just followed his words and headed to the nursery. I saw y/n on the floor with a glass of water in her hands. 

I could hear my tia in her room with tio Agustin. I didn't want to ruin their moment but it was inmortant. "Tia!" I yelled. She came out with her husband and my mother. "What is it dear" she said to me. "Y/n" I said weakly pointing to y/n. She gasped "Dios Mio" she picked up y/n and set her in her bed. 

"I can't feed her any food without her awake to properly digest it." I sighed. "We just have to wait until she wakes up" Antonio started crying "she is just sleeping!" He said with teary eyes. Camilo's bright and happy face soon turned to a gloomy one. "Well I should get going" Mariano said. 

He turned around and before he could go down the stairs. "Do you know what I like about this town?" He said chuckling. We all looked at him in shock. "Suckers!" Mami went after him but my tia held onto her.  "YOU MONSTER! "  it started to drizzle a bit and soon turned into a light storm.

The storm grew and grew until it reached outside. 'She is just sleeping' I reminded myself while hearing her heart beat. "I love you" I said whispering to her. I could hear her heart beating faster and faster as I said that. 

"Can you hear me" I asked knowing that she couldn't answer. I started to sob lightly. "Shhh" Camilo said while hugging me from the back. "She is just sleeping right?" I said trying to get a positive answer. 

Antonio sat on my lap and cried with me "yeah" he said softly. I heard him though. I zoned out and heard Mariano talking to his mom. "Mommy, I poisoned y/n just like you said. There is no way she will wake up for Julieta to feed her, I can get Dolores back"

"Shhh!" His mom said "she can hear us" then they both chuckled. "Mamma's boy" I mumbled. Everyone heard me. "Mi amor what do you mean?" Mami asked. "Mariano poisoned y/n" my mom scoffed while the rest of my family seemed surprised. 

"I'm going to beat that guy up" I heard Luisa say. "No," I said between tears.  "When he comes here to sign the divorce papers we will have something  ready for him and his precious mommy"I smiled a little. 

I looked at Antonio who had fell asleep in my arms then to y/n. My papa took Antonio and mirabel sighed. "She needs time" mirabel said while mumbling. Everyone got out of the room and I broke into another sob. "She is just sleeping!" I yelled knowing my ears would hurt a little. Mirabel hugged me and climbed up her bed.  "You can stay here for the night" 

Then I heard her heart beat settled then I heard snores. "Goodnight prima...goodnight y/n" I sat closer to her "if you die I will kill you"
