XXVIII. Full Kook.

    

     THE LIGHTS eventually turn off while the boys are waiting making John B look at the other three. "They did it. It's go time." He whispers. "Let's do this." Pope says as they pull on their face gaiters. "Three, two..." John B tries to count down but JJ simply got up. "Just--just go." He tells Pope who got up to follow after JJ and then John B and Jake follow after.

The boys enter the basement and approach the well. "Holy crap, do you know what this is?" JJ looked to the other three boys. "It just hit me. Pope, look." He held out the rope and took off his gaiter. "This is C.H.U.D. Full C.H.U.D." He smiles, looking at Jake and John B who share confused glances to one another.

"What is he talking about?" John B asked and Jake looks at the blond boy. "Yeah, what's C.H.U.D.?" He asked and JJ looks back at him. "Cannibalistic humanoid underground dwellers? Have you guys not seen that film?" He glanced over at Pope then John B.

"No." John B whispers as Jake shook his head. "Can't say I have, no." Pope answers him. "It's actually a good film. It's all about, like, cannibals that live in the sewers and under New York City, and it's like--" "oh, yeah, sure. I'll watch it on movie nights with Evie." Jake looked at JJ, nodding his head softly.

"Really?"

"No, man." Jake furrowed his brows as John B tells them to shut up. "Alright. How deep do you think this is, Pope?" John B asked and Pope sighs softly. "I don't know." He responses with and John B glanced at him.

They got everything set up and John B got onto the rope as Pope stood at the well with JJ and Jake on the side, holding onto the rope tightly. "Hey, boys. I have one request." John B says as Pope stops. "Yeah?" They all say at the same time. "Don't drop me." He replied.

"Woah," JJ jokingly yells as he lets it go and John B looks at him. "Okay... You're gonna die first, for sure." He says and they continue slowly lowering John B down. "Alright, just keep payin' it out nice and slow like that." Pope tells Jake and JJ. "Here we go, keep going. Keep going." John B kept telling them as JJ adjusted the rope around him, making Jake let go of it and look up at him with confusion. "Wait. Hold on, I'm gonna get situated." He says.

"Dude, come on." Jake said and Pope looks at him. "You good?" He asked and Jake tries to grab onto the rope making JJ slip down and let go of the rope. "Oh, shit! John, shit!" Pope tries to grab the rope as John B yelled. Jake grasped onto the rope and they all get a hold of it again. "JJ, get up. You okay?" Jake said as he glanced back at the boy laying on his back who nods. "John B!" JJ whisper-yells.

"I told you not to drop me!"

Pope leans forward, "you good, man?" He asked John B. "What the hell was that?" The boy in the well replied back with. "Little technical difficulties." Pope answers him and John B looks up. "Keep going, slow!" He emphasized. "Okay, we're gonna start paying you out again, alright?" Pope tells him and Jake slowly starts lowering John B as JJ was behind him now, holding onto the rope as well. They went bit by bit, Jake slowly letting go of the rope each time while JJ makes sure to watch how much rope they were using.

"Alright, keep going. Alright, keep it comin'."

"Hey, hey, we got 15 feet left. Are you getting close to the bottom?" Pope asked John B, looking down in the well. "I can't tell. Just-- just keep goin'." John B replied back and Pope looks at Jake and JJ. "Give me more." He says and Jake nods. "Got ya." He says and kept going with letting the rope go slowly.

"Woah! Stop!"

Jake quickly grasped onto the rope at that, looking at Pope right away. "I'm hangin' over some sewage-water lookin' shit." John B tells them and Pope glanced at the other two. "You want back up?" He asked. "Keep goin', I guess..." He sounds unsure but Jake does so anyway. "Nice and slow." JJ tells him and he just quickly nods in response.
