XX. We Missed You.

OLIVIA GREY loves him? Jake took the rest of the day to be by himself, took Evie home and went to bed early. All while Pope found the key, Kie was getting kicked out, JJ was helping the wrong man out of jail, Sarah was meeting with her brother, not Wheezie, who then attacked and tried to drown her, and John B was getting attacked in his cell.

And that next morning, Jake was heading back over to the Chateau, to see how Kie, JJ, Pope and Sarah were doing. When he got there, JJ was waxing his board in the shack while Pope was criticizing him about how much he was waxing his board, and Kie was just sitting there, just playing with her ukulele.

"Hey." He says, bringing the three's attention over to him. "Hey, man." Pope nods to him. "What's up, dude, where were you yesterday?" JJ asked and Jake just gestured. "My grandma's. She needed help with something... did I miss anything?" He then asked and Kie snorts, rolling her eyes.

"JJ breaking out the wrong guy out of jail." She says and Jake furrows his brows, looking at JJ who turned to him. "In my defence, I thought it was JB." He says and Jake shrugs. "Yeah, duh, but what the hell was your plan anyway?" He asked and JJ goes on this whole rabbit hole of explaining his plan very thoroughly, as Jake just nods his head softly.

"Right. That totally would've worked..."

"Hey Jake?" Kie says, making him look towards the girl with worry. "Yeah?" He says but before he can say anything, a car honking caught their attention. "Did you hear that?" JJ asked as Jake turned around, looking in the direction to see John B pull up in his van.

"Are you serious?" Kiara exclaimed, standing up and setting down her ukulele. "Hold on, am I dreaming?" JJ asked them as Jake laughed, seeing John B hop out the van. "No!" Pope says. "Guess who's out the clink, boy!" The Routledge shouts as they all rush over. "No freaking way, man!" Jake said as Kie just shouted in excitement.

"Bro! My boy's out the can!" JJ laughed as the four of them now embraced John B. "Welcome back!" Kie says to him. "We missed you." Jake ruffled the boy's head of hair. "I missed you guys too." John B says with a smile as they all now stepped back from the hug.

"How'd you do it? You bust out?" JJ asked the boy. "Uh, they dropped the charges." John B says, glancing around at them. "They dropped the charges." Pope says, looking at JJ. "Dude, that's phenomenal!" Kie says, smiling widely and JJ looks at John B. "So you're telling me I did all that work for nothing?" The blond boy asked and Jake scrunched up his face.

"Oh, the most elaborate escape plan of all time?" Pope teased the Maybank. "Oh, foolproof." Kie chimed in. "Yeah, it was, actually." JJ said as John B looks around. "Wait, where's Sarah?" He asked them and the other four just all looked at one another. "No, no, no. Where... where--where's Sarah?" He asked, now looking towards Kiara. "She went to go meet Wheezie last night. She didn't come back." The girl tells him and John B just looked away, face now full of worry.

Later, on the dock, the group were chilling on the boat, well JJ and Pope were working on the boat as Jake and Kie just sat together at the front of the boat, all while John B was pacing, just seeming more worried by the minute. "So, Sarah just dips and doesn't call?" He asked, looking towards his friends.

"Yeah, man. She just left her bag. Didn't tell anybody." Pope answers, looking over at the Routledge boy. "Okay, dude. I--I--I really think Ward got to her." He says now, looking towards Jake and Kiara. "I mean, the dude tried to have me killed in jail." He added on as he looks back over at Pope and JJ.

"What?" Jake says right away as both Pope and JJ turn towards him. "Yeah. He sent somebody to the prison who yoked me up and almost killed me." He tells them. "You serious?" Kie asked him, looking worried. "Yes."

"Do we know who this dude was?" JJ now asked John B. "No, I have no idea. Dude, I just swear to God, one day I'm gonna kill that son of a bitch." John B says, hopping onto the boat and sitting down. "It's okay." Kie says, smiling at him. "No, Kie, it's not okay. We gotta find Sarah." John B tells her. "No, literally, it's okay. She's right there." Kie pointed.

The other three turned around, seeing Topper's boat pulling up. "John B?" Sarah stood up. "John B!" He waved and Jake furrows his brows. "What is she doing with Topper?" He now asked, looking at John B who just looked down, sighing. Sarah rushed to the front of the boat, smiling widely and tossing over the rope when the boat stops. "Hi!" John B says, smiling as Sarah climbed aboard on the boat.

"Hey!" She laughs, embracing him. "Oh my God, I'm so glad you're okay. Hi." John B hugs her tightly. "I didn't know if I'd see you again. What happened?" Sarah asked as she parted from him. "Uh, they dropped all the charges." He says and she just smiled widely.

"What?"

"Yeah, no, yeah, I'm a free man. Yeah." He says, smiling as she grabs his face then, laughing. "That's amazing." She said as she hugs him again. "Yeah, I know, it's great, but..." He said and Jake looks at Topper, seeing the way he looks off in the distance, he rolls his eyes. "But listen, Sarah, they're coming after Rafe." John B tells the girl now.

"Good. He's completely unhinged. He jumped me last night." Sarah tells him. "What?" Kie exclaims. "And that's why I didn't come back." The girl explains herself further. "Yeah, man. Rafe has lost his mind. Literally almost drowned his own sister. Thankfully, I got there..." Topper spoke up as Sarah turned to him and he just stared at her for a moment.

"Got there just in time." He says, smiling. "Yeah, he did." Sarah says, looking towards John B now. "Uh, well, I guess I owe you one, Topper, don't I?" He asked and the Kook scoffs. "It's all good. I mean, somebody had to rescue your girlfriend, right?" He asked, gesturing towards Sarah. "Uh, that's funny because she's not actually my girlfriend, right?" John B said, looking at Sarah now.

"Uh..." Topper chuckles, "what is she then?" He asked as Jake just glanced between him and the couple. "Tell him." John B tells Sarah who looked at him, then over at Topper. "I'm--I'm with him." Is all she says and Jake looked at Kie who just made a displeased face.

"Gotcha. You're with him. Okay, yeah. I just, like, needed a little clarity there. You guys clear on that?" Topper looked over at JJ and Pope now. "I think it's clear you gotta go now." The Maybank says sassily. "Yeah, I think I'll head out. It's about that time." He agreed.

"Topper. Thank you." Sarah says, going over to hug him as Topper gave John B a really cocky look over her shoulder. "Yeah, of course. I'm just glad you're okay." He tells her, rubbing her back as John B just stared at him.
