XXVII. Go Get Rich.

THE BOYS had some beer, well minus Jake who just drank water, and went to bed after as Jake just wondered what Kie and Sarah were doing. Hopefully, they were making up like John B wanted, he also wanted that because he doesn't want Kiara mad at him.

In the morning, he stretched and yawned before taking a quick shower and getting dressed. He and the other three all got ready to pick up Kie and Sarah. In the distance, they see the girls sitting on the edge of the boat.

"Uh-oh!" Pope yelled out. "You forget your keys or something?" John B asked them. "You guys need a tow?" Pope says as they got closer. "You gotta admit it was kinda funny." John B says and Jake glanced at him, shaking his head. "John B." Kie says as the boat slows.

"Uh, what's that?"

"Mastermind, huh?" Kie then asked as she glanced at the other boys. "I'm always plannin'." The boy says proudly in response. "Some patriarchal bullshit." Kie stood up and Sarah stands up as well, "yeah, that sucked." She says as JJ grins. "You still love us though, right?" He asked and tossed the rope over to Kie who caught it. "Yeah, whatever."

"Hey, you still hate me?" John B asked Sarah who crossed her arms. "A little. We're both gonna get you back when you least expect it." She said before looking over at Kie. "Watch your back, boys." She says and Jake raised his brows. "Well, I, for one, welcome that challenge." Pope says and Kie nods softly.

"Me too." Jake nods, smirking a bit as he glanced up at Kie who just glanced away, rolling her eyes. "So, did you guys, you know?" He then asked as he gestured between them. "Reconcile our differences?" Kie asked and Sarah looks away, shaking her head. "Not even close." Kie looks off into the distance.

"But we're... willing to work together." Sarah looked at Kie as her answer sounds like she's questioning it to the other girl. "Mm. You know what? That's victory." John B says and JJ nods. "Yep." He says before he does their woogity-woogity thing with Pope.

"You know what it was? Hydroponic."

"Don't say that." Pope tells JJ right away. "Alright, shut up." John B tells the pair before looking back at the girls. "You guys ready to jack some loot?" He asked and the two smile. "Yeah, whatever." Kie jumps onto the boat before sitting down next to Jake. "Yup."

"Alright, let's get it."

They fixed up the boat and took it back before heading to the Chateau to grab the van, get ready and head to the Crain House. John B began listing everything, "alright, you guys got rope?" He glanced at the others in the back. "Got it." Pope replied to him.

"Grappling hook?"

"We don't have a grappling hook. We're not Batman." The boy replied right away making Jake chuckle. "Pulley?" John B glanced back again. "Check." Kie nods. "Dark clothes?" He asked and Jake glanced around to see everyone was in black or dark shade attire. "Check." He nods. "Flashlights?" John B asked next. "Check." JJ replied to the boy.

"Alright, good. We're ready."

"Let's go get rich, guys." JJ says and Kie smiles. "Yeah, hell yeah." She says and Jake chuckles as John B got out and went to the other door. "Let's go boys. And girls." Jake added after, glancing at Kie and Sarah.

"Wait, wait," John B says after opening the van door. "I wanna say thank you, guys. Seriously." He glanced around at them. "It means a lot to me that you're here tonight." He looked at Jake who just shrugs. "Of course, dude." He raised his hand to fist bump John B's.

"Yeah," Pope agreed so he also does a handshake with him. "My man." John B says as he then looked at Sarah and Kie. "Alright, we done with the circle jerk? Can we go do this?" JJ asked, glancing around at them.

"Let's go get that wheat in the water."

"Weed? I'm up for weed." JJ says as the girls got out first and the boys follow. "Wheat. I said wheat." Pope said, glancing at him and Jake rolls his eyes with a small smile. "After you. Ladies first." Kie says and Sarah climbs up, "alley-oop." She says and Kie follows.

After Kie is Jake, then John B, then JJ and Pope. They walk through the lawn like before and stopped, staring up at the house when the lights went on. "Shit!" Sarah gasped.

"Oh, shit!"

"Go, go, go, go." Pope says as they hide. "Flashlights!" Kie says so they all fumble to turn off their lights. "It's on strobe!" JJ says before he sat down and John B shushed them. "Okay. So she has motion sensor lights." Pope says, looking at JJ to his left. "We could, uh... move really slowly, maybe?" He suggested and Sarah looks at him. "What?" She says.

"Yeah, that's not how it works." Pope says to him. "Oh, shit. Let's throw a rock at it." John B tells them and Jake looks at him. "Oh, yeah! That could work. Let the axe murder know that we're here." He says, nodding his head exaggeratedly. "Yeah. Let's throw a rock at it." Kie nods as well, looking at John B.

"Okay, you guys have a better idea?" John B asked the pair and Kie spoke up again. "Literally anything but that." She says and Jake gestured to her. "What about the breaker? In the circuit box on the porch." Sarah says making all of them look over at her. "We used to play hide-and-seek here as kids. And if we were brave enough, we'd go all the way up to the porch. I've seen it." She explained to John B.

"No, no. You're not going in the house alone." John B says and Sarah looks away. "Watch me." She says and Jake glanced away, sighing. "Crain chops people into pieces." JJ says and Sarah looks at him. "If you believe that, but she's like what, 85?" Sarah asked him.

"Yeah, somethin' like that."

"She's probably barely still kicking." Sarah tells them as Kie looks at her. "Here, I'll go with you." She says and Jake looked at her right away. Suddenly he understands John B's concern. "Yeah." Sarah whispers back.

"Okay. We'll wait for your signal." Pope says and the two girls got up. "Okay, cool." Sarah replied, nodding. "Hey! Be safe." John B says before Jake could say anything. "We will." Sarah whispers back before they walk away and JJ turns Pope's head to him.

"Be safe." He whispers in a sultry manner. "I'll be so safe." Pope whispers back, grabbing his arms. "I'll be safe for you." He adds, going along with it. "Can you guys stop? Stop!" John B whispers making the two look at him. "I'm gonna kill you." He says and Pope looks at JJ. "But how would that keep us safe?" He asked and Jake chuckled quietly, looking away.
