III. Light Espionage.

THE THREE boys now follow Kiara out the Wreck. "Just for the record, I never doubted them." JJ spoke up and Kie laughs. "I owe you five bucks." She said to the blond boy. "Hey, Kiara, I do need those setups done by five!" Anna Carrera now shouts out to her.

"There are other people that work here." Kie shouted back, glancing back to where her mother was. "But ain't none of 'em my children." The woman calls out as they approach the benches by the dock. "I feel that. On a deep, emotional level, I understand that." Pope said, meaning his dad always nags him to work for him too just because he's his son.

Kie sat onto the top of the bench as Jake walked to sit next to her but she grabs his arm, making him plop down onto the seat below her, between her legs. "So we going to the Bahamas or what?" JJ asked as he tossed his backpack onto the bench before leaning onto the bench next to where Pope was sitting.

"Dude, there's no way we're getting to the Bahamas." Pope tells him. "John B's gonna get nabbed sooner or later. So if we're gonna clear his name, we need to have done it like yesterday." Kie said, her arms on Jake's shoulders, glancing from Pope to JJ.

"I'll tell you how we do it." JJ stood up suddenly and Jake smiles. "You have a plan, buddy?" He asked and JJ nods. "Yes, as a matter of fact, I do." He answers the question twice and Jake raised his brows. "Hmm, go on." He says and JJ lifts one leg up to rest it onto the bench. "We kidnap Rafe." He begins with.

"I'm sorry, what?" Pope says, sounding taken back by the statement. "We kidnap Rafe, tie him up and stick the gun in his mouth and just wait till he starts squawking." JJ says and Jake furrows his brows, staring at the blond.

"You know, torture's a war crime." Kie says and Jake points at her. "Yeah, so how exactly do you plan on clearing John B's name from a prison cell? Because that's a felony." Pope tells JJ who moves to sit down. "Alright, well, what do you got, Pope? I was just trying to keep it simple. You know, one stop, and we're done." JJ tells him and Pope glanced between the other three. "Guys, all we need is a material witness." He said and Jake immediately glanced up, realizing something.

"I think I got it..." He said as he stood up and Kie looks up at him as the other boys stare at him in curiosity. "Well, we saw Ward's plane fly over us... if he didn't fly it, someone else did, and that someone else was on the tarmac." He explained and Pope snaps his fingers, pointing at him. "Yeah, exactly." He nodded.

"They saw Peterkin get murdered." Pope then added, glancing at JJ as Jake looks at Kie who is staring at the ground in thought. "So now we just to find out whoever that was and get them to confess on record." Pope says and Jake nods. "How do we do that?" Kie asked, glancing between the two teenage boys.

"A little light espionage." Jake says and Pope smiles. "A little ghost recon." JJ adds, putting his cap back on as he smiles at them. "Woogity-woogity?" Pope held out his hands which the other three teenagers immediately join in on. "Give me some woogity, baby!"

The four were back in the car, driving across the bridge to Figure Eight, "if this guy was flying planes for Ward, he's gotta be pretty tight-lipped." Pope said as Jake quickly typed up a message for his mom. "So then direct approach gets my vote." JJ says, cocking his gun making Jake immediately look back.

"JJ, no." Pope says right away as Kie also glanced back. "Dude, put that thing away!" Jake said and JJ looks at him and Kie. "Guys!" He tries to reason but Pope tells him to put the gun down. "We gotta keep this simple, or we'll never get John B off." JJ said and Jake sighs, grabbing the little AirPods case.

"This is my plan," he held it up and JJ and Pope stare at the case in suspicion. "I'm gonna connect my phone to Kie's AirPods, put my phone in his car, and then I listen in on them." He said as he then put them in his ears before raising his phone to Kie.

"Say something." He tells her. "Something." Kie says into his mic and he nods, "got it. Thanks, beautiful." He said as he pulled his phone back. "You guys are disgustingly cute." JJ says as Pope pointed, "that's his house over there." He tells him and Jake nodded.

"Okay..." He says as Kie pulls over and parks the car. "Honk or yell if anything goes wrong." He tells Kie who looks back at him, nodding. "Don't do anything dangerous." She says and he just takes off his belt. "I'll be fine." He smiles and then got out of the car. He then discreetly headed to the lawn, hiding behind some bushes. "So... how's it going with you and Jake?" JJ suddenly asked Kiara, nudging Pope.

But Pope couldn't really care as he stared out the window, watching Jake who got to the backyard. "It's good..." Kie replied, staring out the window. "Good? Alright." Jake watches the man, Gavin, work on his grill on the patio.

"In the bedroom, is he, like, kinda freaky, cause he's experienced, you know?" JJ now asked and Kie glanced back at him. "Why are you asking?" She says, sounding confused before glancing at Pope who glanced up at her.

"I don't know. Just kinda curious." He says, looking away. "Just spitballing here." He adds and Pope looks at him. "You don't need to spitball. We could sit in silence." He tells the blond boy who just gently smacks his arm and Pope merely rolled his eyes.

Once Gavin went back inside, Jake then headed towards the vehicle where he quietly as he could opened the door but then saw the man through the window, quickly hiding. And once he could, he leaned over and hid his phone underneath the driver's side chair before slowly getting out of the car and shutting the door.

"Ranking-wise--" "oh, you're still asking?" Kie asked as she looks back at JJ again. "Yeah, I was just curious." He explained. "Oh, you're still curious." She nods softly. "I-I-Is John B better?" He asked suddenly and she stared in disbelief. "What?" She exclaimed at him, glancing back at Pope who sent her an apologetic look as Jake came running back to the car.

"Okay, phase one, done," he said then noticed JJ's face, Pope's face and Kie's. "You guys okay?" He asked and Kie just looked at him. "Yeah, totally." She nodded quickly, reaching for his hand which he then interlocks their fingers together, smiling faintly at the girl.

the original plot of this was gonna be pope and kie still getting together becuz she didn't know evie was "jake's girl" but then i also really dislike slowburns so i changed my mind
the idea of jj asking all of those questions for jake's sake seemed like such a jj thing honestly like he's trying to help jake but i already technically did that in my other kie fic
