XXX. Kick His Ass.

FROM WHERE he stood, Jake looked around, his eyes searching for his girlfriend or his friends. He smiles when he spots them, JJ and Pope were standing with Kie by the open bonfire, so he walked over to them. They were kind of quietly talking to one another, discreetly even. "Hey!" He says when he got closer and all three look over at him. "Hi." Kie smiled but then glanced away, sipping her beer.

"Hey, man." JJ smiled and Pope pointed. "Wait, Jake... who the hell is that?" He said and Jake turned around, seeing that this spot had a clear spot of where Olivia's Honda Civic was. Obviously they saw him get driven here... maybe they didn't see Olivia, which is why they're asking. He sighed, slowly turning around, "oh... right. You guys might know her. That's..." He glanced at Kiara.

She was also waiting for answer, her jaw kind of clenched. "That's, um, Olivia." He quickly looks back at JJ and Pope. "Woah, what, Olivia's back?" The Maybank spoke first then looked at Pope. "Did you know this?" He's baffled because he always knows intel like this. "No." Pope says and then they both looked at Kie who just glances at Jake right away.

"I mean, I knew, but it was irrelevant information..." She said, a bit salty as she drank some more of her beer. "Hey, can we talk?" Jake says and it always makes her anxious, when he asks if they can have a talk, but she just nods and the two walk a few feet away from where JJ and Pope were standing, Jake just rolling his eyes when the two were making faces at them and JJ even whistled.

"What's up?" Kie asked, turning to face him and Jake sighs. "You know that thing I said, about Olivia saying she loved me? Well... I forgot about the other part. She wants to get back together. For Evie." He says and Kie right away, just looked away, drinking her beer so Jake reached up, grabbing her arm gently. "I told her no." He said right away, so she quickly looked back at him. "Really?" She asked and he nods. "She tried to make me chose between you and her. But I chose you. It's always been you." He says and she just smiles.

She looked down, "but what about Evie?" She asked quietly before looking back up into his eyes and he shook his head. "I'll figure something out. She said if we had gotten together, her dad would basically have been okay with me moving in, for Evie, but said that we're gonna be taking it to court then, since I'm turning her down." He says and she sighed, covering her hand over her face.

"I'm so sorry. It wouldn't be that way if--" "if I didn't have feelings for you? Kie, that's out of our control. And her control. It was inevitable..." He says and she just blushed, peeking at him through her fingers as her hand was still over her face. "You're cute." She said as she put her hand away and he just smirked.

"You're cuter." He says and she giggled quietly. "I mean, look at how gorgeous you are, and you're just so amazing, and--and caring, and not just about us, but about the environment and you're just so passionate about things you love--" "okay, you're kind of embarrassing me right now, I don't like compliments..." Kie cut him off, grabbing his shoulders and he laughs, putting his hands up to her waist as she was stepping closer to him.

"Kie, I--" "have a little respect! Her dad just died!" The two look over at the commotion right away to see Topper and Sarah standing near John B and some girl. Jake remembers her, she and John B had hooked up before. "Shut up, Kook! Back off!" The girl yelled at Topper now. "What's your problem?" He raised his voice again at the Pogue. As the two argue, Sarah turned towards John B.

As the two were talking, Jake began making his way over, kind of on guard as Kie walked with him, holding his arm. "You wanna start shit right now?" Topper shouted at John B. "Do I wanna start some shit?" John B walked towards him as everyone began recording.

"Come on, John B. Kick his ass!"

"They all know what happened last time." Topper yelled, waving his arm around as Sarah pushed John B back. "Just get out! Just go!" She yells. "Guys, just stop." Jake called out as Kie was still behind him, holding him closer. "I'll beat your ass!" Topper kept nagging John B. "Get out of here, Topper!" John B says.

"He started it, Sarah."

"Don't even think about it." Sarah says, pushing Topper away before turning to John B. "Hey, she don't want you anymore, bro." Kelce steps in, walking up to John B. "Shut the hell up!" The Routledge pushed him back. "What you gonna do, John B, you gonna kill me like you killed Sheriff Peterkin, huh?" The Kook asked him. "Do something!" He shouted.

The Pogue turned and punched him across the face. "John B!" Jake yelled as the crowd all exclaimed in surprise. "Sarah, Sarah," John B said because Kelce had fallen back toward her and Topper. Topper now rushed forward, grabbing John B by his shirt and body slamming him onto the ground. "Get him!" A Pogue shouted. "Stop! Stop!" Sarah shouted as both Jake and Kie rush through people, telling them to move out of the way.

"Sarah!" John B shouted as Kie rushed towards the girl who'd been pushed by the girl John B was flirting with. "Move, bitch! What's your problem?" Kie asked the girl, shoving him away before turning to Sarah. "You alright?" Jake asked her and the blonde girl just nods to them. "Whose side are you on?" The girl Kie shoved away now asked the two.

"She's our friend!" Kie exclaimed. "You belong with us!" The Pogue girl said as Jake walked over and helped up Sarah. "Thanks," she said quietly and brushed her hair behind her ear. "Can you please help John B?" She asked him quietly now and he nods quickly. "Yeah, yeah," he said as he went over just as Pope and JJ rushed over as well.

Pope began fighting Kelce and both JJ and Jake pull Topper off of John B, the Lennox boy shoving him the other way as JJ helped up the Routledge. "Guys, we gotta get out of here! It's not worth it!" Kie shouted. "You good? You good? Alright." JJ said before the two run ahead of them, jumping down and rushing off. "Kie," Jake said as he grabs her hands, helping her down before they follow after John B, JJ and Pope towards the van.

"Go back to the Cut."

In the van, JJ approached the open van door and crushed the can in his hand as he burps. "Well, that was a little unexpected." He says as Kie looks away towards the front, making a face. "Was it?" She asked, she was seated in the passenger side, while Jake was in the driver's seat. The Lennox sighed, glancing back to the other boys in the back. John B was holding a cold beer can to his head, just staring in one spot. "Hey. Maybe she'll come around." Jake merely told the curly haired boy.

He glanced at Kie who looked back at the others as well, seeing the look on John B's face. "It's like everything that happened between us didn't matter." He says, still just staring at the same spot he's been for the past ten minutes or so. "We should head back to the Chat now..." Jake said, glancing over to JJ now. "Yeah. Agreed. We have more beer there." The blond boy pointed towards him. Jake rolled his eyes but just turned around, turning on the engine as the Maybank boy now climbed into the back of the van.
