THE FOUR continue watching from the ledge but then Ward leaned out the frame, looking around then looked up. "Get down. Get down." Pope tells them right away, so they all duck down again. "Holy shit." JJ says. "I think we should go right now." Jake tells them, looking at Pope to his right then JJ and Kie to his left. "Pope, you have enough, right?" JJ then asked. "Yeah." Pope replies.
Ward picked up the money bag and came rushing out of the building. "Hold on. He's coming out. There he goes." Pope watched the man rushing around, looking down. "I think he's looking for the gun." He said, following the telephoto to the man who got to the nearest sewer crate where he kneeled down and shouted loudly. "I think the gun just went down the drain. He's looking for it." Ward had leaned down, his arm inside the storm drain.
"Hey, he's looking for the gun." Pope said as Kie slowly stood up. "Hold this," she tells Jake who grabs her bag. "What are you doing?" The boy instantly asked. "Kie--" "What is wrong with you?!" She shouts, cutting off JJ. "Murderer!" She shouted and Jake grabs her arm, gently pulling her down. "Kie! Kie!" He says but she keeps shouting so he puts his hand over her mouth. "Kiara, are you crazy?" Pope asked when he looked over at them.
"I don't care if he hears me. He's a murderer." Kie said as she looked at Jake who sighs. "Yeah, and he's gonna murder us, Kie." JJ says and Pope hits Jake's arm gently. "Guys, he sees us." He says. "Are you serious?"
"Come on, we gotta go. He's coming."
Pope heads down first. "Pope, hurry!" JJ says and once he's lower, Jake went down next, JJ following which he stepped his boot onto Jake's hand. "Ow! What the fuck! My hand!" He pulled his hand back which caused him to lose his grip and kick Pope in the face.
The two boys land to the ground, "sorry! Shit, shit, sorry!" JJ rushed down with Kie behind him. "No, no, no, no, no." Pope picked up the telephoto and JJ looks at him. "You fumbled it?" He asked and Pope looks at him. "You kicked me in the face." He defensively says. "JJ stepped on my hand!" Jake gets defensive as well as he gestured towards JJ.
"I was trying to hurry." JJ said in response, standing with Pope. "Guys, come on. Let's just go!" Kie told the three boys. "He's coming, let's go." Pope said and they began rushing back to Kie's car, jumping over the fence. They run to the car and all got inside quickly.
It's quiet for a couple of minutes and JJ looks to the front. "Could someone fill me in on what the frick just happened?" He exclaimed and Jake just puts his hands over his face as Pope just groaned loudly in anger. "Holy crap. I can't believe it. Wait, wait. What were they fighting over?" JJ looked at Pope.
"Uh... it was--it was a gun, the one Rafe used. He must have kept it." Pope explains and Jake just looks over at Kie. "Of course! Of course! The murder weapon!" The blond in the backseat says. "Pick up! Pick up!" She says, sounding panicked. "Who are you calling?" Jake asked him, confused. "Who do you think?" Kie looked back at her, looking scared.
"The cops?" Pope asked and Kie looks back at them. "Who else am I supposed to call?" She raised her voice. "Why would you call the police? That was Ward! It's Ward!" JJ shouted at her as the phone call was picked up. "Shut up!" Kie yells back at him before looking to the front. "Hello? Hi, somebody's been shot at the... at the Grand Street construction site! You guys need to hurry because he's dying. I don't know if he's already dead or not! But you guys need to hurry, please!" She begs to the officer.
"We gotta get out of here. We're sitting ducks."
"We can't stay here." Pope explains, looking to the front. "What do you want me to do?" Kie asked them, looking back. "Just drive." Jake tells her in a gentle voice, hoping she'll soon calm down and she just nodded, turning on the engine. She seemed really scared and panicked by what happened.
