Chapter 06: I Forgot My Birthday

Aria Wood:

I was in my room putting on my hot pink nail polish.

Yesterday Myrna and I had gone shopping, she was so sad. I could see it in her eyes, her fake smiles. I couldn't bare it, seeing her like this. So enervated, so weak. She was faking all the time. She became fragile and broken.
I loved her so much. I wanted to protect her and I promised myself I wouldn't let anyone hurt her.

My phone beeped and I checked it, then the date caught my eye.

July 8th.

Wait, July 8th, Myrna's birthday is on July 12th.

Which means,

Myrna's birthday is in 4 days!

I ran downstairs as fast as I could trying not to trip, but failing miserably. I saw all of my brothers and my mom sitting in the living room.

"Where is Myrna?" I asked.

"In her room, why darling?" My mom asked me.

I thought they would remember her birthday but it seemed that they didn't.

"Her birthday is in 4 days!" I half whispered half shouted.

All of there eyes went wide.

Oh god, they did forget..

"Don't tell me we all forgot.." I face palmed myself.

"We have to make her somethings special." Alex suddenly said.

We all nodded.

Suddenly an idea popped inside my head.

I smirked. "I have an idea.."

Myrna Rockwell:

I heard whispers as I began walking down the stairs. I went to the living room to see my aunt, Austin and Alex there.

Three of my cousins were missing.

Austin and Alex were playing on their X-box while talking in hushed voices.

The whispering stopped as soon as I asked "Whats going on?"

They looked at me like I was some kind of a freak.

"Nothing." Austin replied nervously.

I rose an eyebrow and said "Oh really? Where are the rest of the dumbasses?"

"Walmart."
"The mall."
Alex and Austin said together. They looked at each other and smiled worriedly.

I scoffed and Alex stared at me, his eyes sparkling, which made me look at him suspiciously. I eyed them both waiting for an explanation of what had just happened.

"We mean that they went shopping. They are going to Walmart first then the mall." Austin said, as he gave me speechless grin.

"You guys are so weird." I shrugged it off, and sat next to them.

I cracked my eyes open to close them quickly as the strong ray of the sun blinded me. I opened them again and rubbed the tiredness away.
