Capitilum 19

~Accalia~

For the past few days I had been helping out Aita in the hospital wing, Kena had upped the training courses. I mean no one could blame her with the recent events. The downside of it was that I had barely seen Kena in the past couple of days. She had been stuck in her office, Alpha business she didn't want me to get involved with. Even Dani refused to tell me anything.

I sighed, focusing my attention back on Aita as she explained what she was doing. My eyes drifted outside, the way they often did when I saw Kena walk by. Her whole appearance screamed Alpha mode, yet she looked tired.

'Are you alright Luna?' I flinched at the name-calling, forcing my eyes away from the window and back on Aita. I nodded my head, 'Yes I am sorry, let's continue.'

Aita lead me to the other part of the wing. Some nurses were walking around, helping out. 'This is more.. the elderly wing,' I saw Nimue handing out some herbs, she reminded me of my Naomi. Aita walked over as she started to talk to Nimue. But my eyes were drawn to a closed off room, the sound of steady heartbeats drummed through my body, as I involuntarily placed my hand on the door knob. A few words playing in the back of my mind, in a language so old I couldn't understand.

I was drawn to this room, a shiver ran down my spine as Leto lowly growled. It was a different kind of growl, one I hadn't heard before. Nonetheless I opened the door, the sound of the beeping machines were loud in the quiet room. Slow, yet steady heartbeats. The smell of smoke hit my nose.

My eyes lingering over them as I tried to understand the situation, in front of me were six women. A feeling of protection hit me, what happened to them. I slowly walked past them and stopped near a bed. My eyes drawn to the brown haired woman, Leto barked in the back of my mind. My hands were on the bedpost as my knuckles turned white.

'What happened to them?' I asked Aita, her scent hitting me as she closed the door behind us. Aita sighed as she carefully walked up to me. 'A fire, almost five years ago.'

'Who are they?' I couldn't help the anger rushing through my veins as Leto her anger only intensified mine.

'These six women are Kena her guardians, assigned to her by your mother Deianira. They took an oath to protect and serve Kena. They risked their lives saving Kena from the fire. Unfortunately the roof fell down on top of them. Kena got them out, but they haven't woken up since.' Aita whispered, eyeing the women.

'Cyllene and Conan.' I spoke.

Aita nodded her head, 'Yes.'

'Will they be able to wake up again?' I asked.

Aita paused, unsure of what to say next. 'We are not sure. After all these years we aren't sure if their wolves are still around. Without a wolf, there is nothing left to safe.'

My eyes returned to the brown haired woman in front of me, the gnawing feeling in the back of my mind only intensifying. 'Are they Lycans?'

Aita eyed me, 'Yes. They were part of your mothers pack.'

I frowned, my mother had disappeared the same day as the fire. Cyllene and Conan had planned the attack perfectly. Attacking both sides at once. But how could they have known about Kena her hiding place? About my whereabouts?

A soft knock on the door shook me out of my strain of thoughts. Casually leaning against the door was Dani, her eyes softened at the sight of the women in front of us. Aita walked us out of the room and closed the door behind me.

'What is up?' I asked Dani, ignoring Leto in the back of my mind. Dani eyed me, motioning for me to follow her. I followed her through the trees towards the lake, many were relaxing near the water. Without even saying anything she pushed me in, I gasped for air as the cold water shocked my muscles. 'Seriously Dani!' I growled, she laughed as she took off her shirt revealing a gorgeous body. I averted my gaze.
Dani winked, 'If Kena saw you checking me out like that we would both be death.'

I chuckled. 'Where is Kena anyways?'

Dani jumped into the water. 'She is about to head out to a meeting.' She answered, refusing to meet my gaze. I eyed her, I knew she was hiding something from me. 'Why?'

Dani ran a hand through her hair. 'Lately we have been finding a lot of death Omega's, she is just going to check out why.'

'Without me?'

Dani eyed me, biting her lip. 'Look, Kena has requested a meeting with Conan, just because he has the most omega's in his territory,'

I growled, pushing myself out of the water. My anger taking over as I marched towards the pack house. 'We all just thought you wouldn't want to go back!' Dani yelled after me as she tried to keep up with me.

'I can't fucking believe you all have been keeping this from me.' I let out a frustrated growl as I marched towards the pack house. Kena and some others were already loading some stuff into the cars. Why would we need five gigantic SUV's.

Kena eyed me, her gaze flying past mine as she watches Dani run up to us. 'Acc..' Kena tried, but I refused to meet her eyes as I walked past her. I crossed my arms as I stood near the SUV. 'I am coming too.'

'No you are not.' She growled through gritted teeth. I knew she was trying to keep Alcione at ease but as was I with Leto. Her eyes lingered down my body, anger radiating from her as she pulled my flat against her chest. Kena flipped me over her shoulder as she carried me to our room.

She tossed me onto our bed. Standing over me, her blue eyes were watching me. She opened her mouth to say something, but then looked away from me. 'So you planning on keeping me here while you meet Conan?'

She squinted her eyes close.  'I can't risk your life Accalia,' She whispered, her voice close to breaking. 'For the past few days all I can think about is losing you. I can't lose you like I did before. I can't risk it.'

I sighed at her confession. I grabbed her hand as I pulled her towards me. 'Kena, whatever happens I will always find my way back to you. You're the one I love, I'd spend an eternity fighting if it means I will be back by your side in the end.'

Her eyes widened as they snapped towards me, 'You love me?'

'I do.' I pulled her face into as I kissed her lips.

'I love you too.'
