~Kena POV~

Aita sighed as I adverted my gaze from the light she was shining in my eyes. 'I am fine Aita.' I growled. Aita crossed her arms, 'Yes that is why you passed out during the meeting.'

I growled through gritted teeth, crossing my arms as well. Alcione wasn't anywhere near, she had disappeared to the back of my mind. Hiding in the corner, longing for her mate and the mate bound was hanging on by a thread. The pain was getting too much, the constant stabbing pain in my chest and the never ending headache were taking its toll on me.

'I am fine.' I breathed, Rieka rolled her eyes as she eyed the clock. Rieka had taken over most of the training session. My body was failing me, I started to understand the meaning behind my mothers words. Just like I could understand that I needed my mate to survive. I pulled myself up from the chair, Rieka instantly extending her hand to keep me steady.

Everyone was worried about me. They didn't have to tell me, I knew. I could feel it through the entire pack. They were worried about their Luna and their Alpha. But also their own safety. In the past few weeks we had seen many rogue patrols surrounding our borders and Nimue was fighting hard to keep the barrier up. Azalea her sweater was the only small shimmer of hope I had she was returning and the only thing that kept me going this long. I knew it was only a matter of time before Alcione would simply just fade away.

Rieka her eyes faded to a duller color before meeting mine, 'Kena..'

'What.' I snapped, but I already knew that what I feared was happening.

'A group of rogues came through the barrier on the east side.'

'Help me to the training grounds, please.' It was beneath me to beg, but I had to go outside. I had to make sure everyone was safe. Alora eyed Rieka before turning her gaze to me. She quickly hid her worried expression. 'Help me outside Alora.' I commanded.

She frowned before nodding her head yes, I wrapped my arm around her shoulder and leaning heavily on her.

'You should stay here.' Alora argued, leading me outside.

'You are not my guardian anymore Alora. I am fine, I have to protect my pack.' I snapped back.

She stopped walking. 'If you die, there won't be a pack left to protect.' She growled and I knew she had a point. But I had to do something, Rollin rushed over as she positioned herself on the other side of me. I was an Alpha for crying out loud, I am the daughter of the Moon Goddess. I wasn't going to go down without a fight.

'Alpha! There are.. Lycans!'

My eyes widened. Lycans? How did that even happen, I thought they were all extinct when Deianira died. I quickly shook the thought out my head as we walked over to the east side of the pack. My pack trying their best to fight off the Lycans. I frowned, they didn't look like the Lycans I used to know.

A loud whimper escaped one of my pack members as his body got thrown against a tree. A growl escaped me. My eyes flickering to Alcione and back to me. I needed to focus, her growl rumbling through me at the sight of my pack members being tossed around. 'For Azalea, Alcione.. we have to.'

Alcione barked. My eyes meeting Alora and I nodded for her to let me go. They both took a step back, bowing their head lightly. Rollin shifting into her wolf, waiting for my lead. I took a step forward and a deep breath as I let Alcione take control. We shifted into our wolf.

Even as a female wolf I towered over most of the male rogues. My ears were flat in the back of my neck as I circled some of the rogues. I was weak on my paws and they knew as they attacked all at once. I was thankful for the pack members helping me out.
