She tilted her head as she met my gaze, trying to find the answers she had to her own questions. 'You truly don't know, do you?''I hoped you, my mate could provide me with the answers I desperately need.' I whispered, pain flashed through my eyes. She relaxed her shoulders as she stood, her eyes softened, the warmth of her hand on my cheek spread through my body. 'Follow me,' she held out her hand for me to grab. 'It's time to show you something.'
I reluctantly held her hand, as she led me to her own room. My mouth opened in awe as I took in the lavish room, everything reminded you off the woods. One side of the room held a desk and gave you view of the woods and the gorgeous waterfall. She gave me a tour, stopping at a bathroom. I peeked in a saw a huge rain shower and a gorgeous bathtub. The bedroom was my favorite. The queen-size bed was pushed against one wall, the wall had a gorgeous painting of the woods. Above the bed was a startling picture of a white wolf standing on top of the waterfall, it's back to us as it over-looked the expanse of the forest below. 'Wow..' was all I could muster up to say as I let the scent of the room was over me.
'It amazes me how easily affected you are by my scent,' she slowly ran her hand over my arms as I shivered. 'By my touch..' she whispered softly.
I closed my eyes as I focused on her touch, every fiber of my body heating up under her touch. 'You were going to show me something.'
She chuckled, dropping her hand as she walked to her desk. Her hands roaming over the hundreds of books. Old and new, she motioned for me to sit in her chair as she held a book in her hands. 'This book, is all we know about your mother, Deianira,' she paused, 'Unfortunately, it's written in an old language no one here understands.'
I let my hand trail over the dusty cover, my fingers trailing the letters and a heavy feeling spreading itself over my chest. Kena her eyes watching me carefully as she sat on the desk in front of me, ''Regina mea..' She whispered. 'It is true. You are the last female of the bloodline between Deianira and you are my mate Accalia Deianira.'
A part of me felt content with this small puzzle piece about my history. My mother was Deianira, a happy feeling surged through me. 'My father?'
Kena frowned, 'We honestly don't know. There are many stories, that even we don't understand. One exclaims your father being Lycaon the first Lycan to have ever walked the earth. But others believe you are the descendant of Apollo,' Kena took the book from me as she placed it back into the bookshelf. 'Your mother, liked to keep to herself regarding who your father was. No one in her inner circle knew.'
'You knew my mother?' I frowned.
Kena formed a small smile, 'I was only young, I have no true memories of her. Alcione does though. From the minute she was pregnant I couldn't stay away and from that moment I knew whoever she was pregnant with would be my mate.'
She laughed at my shocked face, 'We Elders know from a very young age, love.'
She ran her hand through her hair as a heavy feeling filled the room, she quickly turned away from me and I could feel the sadness surrounding her. 'What's wrong?'
She refused to meet my gaze, her voice barely above a whisper. 'I have searched for you for centuries, everywhere. I truly thought I would never be able to experience true love, I thought you had died Accalia,' Her eyes burned as they suddenly met mine. 'That night on the hill, it shocked me to the core.'
Her eyes held fire, love and so much more. I could see she was conflicted but the desire was burning through them. Her eyes glued to my lips as she slowly leaned forward. 'Trust me when I say,' she whispered, 'I intend to make you mine, it will not be easy. I will ask things of you that no other can have, and I will put you in situations that may insist you do things you do not want to do. But I will never allow harm to befall on you.'
My heart pumped loudly as she stared at me, her eyes full of millennium of knowledge. I could hardly understand was she was saying of the roaring in my ears. It was hard to believe that after years of wondering we both had found each other. That I was mated to the Daughter of the Moon Goddess, this gorgeous and powerful woman. 'I trust you Kena.'
I forced my eyes to look away from her lips as the tension was slowly suffocating me. 'I must ask you to not run off again,' she spoke, struggling to keep Alcione at bay. 'You are unmarked, prey to the rogues, you're my one and only weakness.' Possession flashed in the depths of her gaze.
'I can't let you mark me yet.' I spoke, meeting her gaze. Apprehension soured my stomach into nerves as her gaze shifted from my neck to my eyes.
'I know.' She rubbed her thumb across my lip in a slow caress. All I could do was stare at her in wonder. The tension slowly suffocating the both of us as we could only stare at each other, taking each other in, feeling the sensation and the desire of being touched by each other. 'Good..' I whispered under my breath.
I barely had time to suck in a breath before her lips were pressed against mine. For a second I was stiff with surprise, but then I relaxed into her. A soft moan fled my mouth as her tongue teased my bottom lip. My heart beat fast in my chest when she chuckled against my lips. She touched our mouths together once more. My fingers found her waist, bunching in the fabric of the comfy sweater.
I wasn't sure how long we stayed like that before pulling apart again, our foreheads remained touching as the intensity of her searching gaze left me breathless. 'That was... unexpected.' I breathed. My chest bloomed with warmth at the low chuckle she emanated.
She pushed her thick hair aside, exposing her neck. There was a different sort of hunger urging me now as I caught sight of the crook of her neck. A strong, ancient feeling rose up with me as I stared at her. My eyes glued to her neck. My teeth ached as my canines tried to push them aside.
'Love, calm down. There will be no marking until you truly want to.' She eyed me curiously. She walked back to the bookshelf, letting her finger over them. 'What do you know about Lycaon?'
'Nothing.' I shrugged, taking a moment to gather myself on the fluffy bed.
Kena nodded, ''Lycaon, was the legendary king of Arcadia. A cruel king who tried to trick Zeus into eating human flesh. Zeus wasn't deceived and devastated the earth with a flood, turning Lycaon into the first ever werewolf.' She started to explain, her attention still focused on the books.
'Zeus wanted to kill his offspring. Which he managed to do, mostly.' She sighed, grabbing an old dusty book. Sitting down next to me as she opened it to a certain page.
Lycaon escaped and founded the city Lycosura, more lycaons joined him and they managed to build the first pack. His mate and wife was Cyllene, a naid nymph. He had three daughters: Callisto, Dia and Psophis.' She pointed to the three pictures in the book before turning the pages again. 'Many believe Lycaon fell in love with Deianira, your mother.'
My head throbbed with the amount of knowledge she threw on me as I stared at the picture of the woman, my mother. She had the same silver-white hair, the same facial features. 'Your mother, was the daughter of another Lycaon who was the son of the giant Aezeius. When Lycaon learned she was pregnant with you, he was rather surprised. No one knew if he was your father or not.'
Kena closed the book, 'Your mother saved hundreds of the Lycaons, the Moon Goddess made sure of that.'
I let myself fall onto the bed, pressing my eyes shut as I let the information was over me. Kena shifted, letting herself rest on her arms as she eyed me. 'That wasn't the end of the story, was it?'
Kena shrugged, shaking her head no. 'Unless you want it to be.'
I shook my head, groaning as I motioned for her to continue. 'Lycaon his mate, Cyllene was furious when she found out your mother was pregnant with you. Believing Lycaon was unfaithful to her, no one could prove her right or wrong. Cyllene angrily sided with my brother Conan, promising him the world. Planning their attack to kill Deianira and Lycaon. Thankfully your mother found out and made sure you were safe.'
Her eyes took a darker shade. 'I don't know how you ended up in the Silver Moon pack, but I am sure that Cyllene knows you're alive. They won't back down until they got their revenge Accalia,' She growled. 'I am not going to let them take you away from me again.'
Her eyes shifted as Alcione took control. 'You are mine Accalia..' She growled.
