She wasted no time to pull me into a tight hug. Her strong arms wrapping around me and the safe feeling only a mother could give you, embraced me. She slowly let me go, her grey eyes piercing through me before they drifted off to Leto. I let my own eyes travel over her, it was almost frightening how much she and I looked a like.
'How?' Was all I could muster up to say.
She sighed, her eyes glued to the Lycan and then she simply said, 'Precautions.'
'What is that supposed to mean?'
Her fierce gaze met mine, 'At a very young age I was taught what to do. I knew my destiny, I knew I was meant to keep the Lycan line save. Even it if meant sacrificing everything I believed in. I build Lycosura and I made it a safe haven for the Lycans. Until I came across Lycaon.'
Fire burned in those grey eyes, 'I had known for a long time about Lycaon and Cyllene their plans. About their plan to take over the Lycan line. To take the throne and making sure no other wolf would roam freely,' Her gaze dropped, 'I just never anticipated meeting my mate, Apollo and getting pregnant with you.
I quietly listened to her voice, everything about her screamed power and all I could wonder was if I was the same way. She was a natural queen, the Gods themselves taught her the ropes. 'Apollo held a lot of anger towards Lycaon so we made precautions, just in case. We made sure you were safe even if it meant we wouldn't be there for you. We had hundreds of Lycans to save and the only way to do so was to make sure you were safe. When you were born, Ivy brought you to safety.'
Her eyes met mine, her silver eyes glowing, 'I should've known that they attacked both territories at the same time. I should've protected both packs. But I was too weak, Apollo had been shot in the back with an arrow filled with wolfsbane. I was too weak to protect both packs.'
'What did you do then?'
She frowned, raising her eyebrow. 'I am the Queen of Lycans, princess. I did what I had to do, I relied on my Lycan and protected my kind. I killed Lycaon. I slit his throat right in front of Cyllene her eyes.'
The way she said it, caused a shiver to run down my spine. She had no remorse to killing a man, she had lived to protect what was hers. She had sworn to protect the Lycan line and me. Even if meant she had to die.
'But.. how are you here? Talking to me..' I whispered.
She grabbed my hand and squeezed it softly, 'Precautions princess, I am trapped between the state of our wolf and human state.'
'The Celestial world?'
She smiled nodding her head yes, 'It was the only way for me to be around to guide you.'
She walked me through the forest, guiding my way to a certain spot. I saw wolves and Lycans roam around freely, the place was magical. So magical I could feel it from my core to my fingertips.
Leto approached me, my brow furrowed at the sight of her. She was skinny and her ribcage was showing, my hand ran over her snout. The Lycan followed Leto around and it's eyes following my every moment, I was drawn to it. I carefully lifted my hand, after a slight hesitation its claw raised and placed it against mine. A spark surged through me along with a rush of power. It's eyes started to glow.
'I wish I was around to show you the ropes in person, princess. I wanted to guide you through this. But I am glad fate decided for you to come here,' My mothers voice sounded behind me. 'All you have to do is accept her. But it will bring you back to reality.'
I dropped my hand and Leto growled as hers and the Lycans eyes stopped glowing. 'What will happen to Leto?'
She smiled, 'The Lycan is part of Leto, every moment Leto makes is copied by the Lycan.'
'Will I see you again?' I whispered.
She pulled me into a hug, 'You carry some of my essence Azalea. We are both partly God, it is a lot to explain and so little time. Your friends are looking for you. We will find a way to see you again princess. Remember you can't kill a God unless you kill their mates.'
She placed a soft kiss on my forehead, 'Go, get back to Kena.'
I took a deep breath, trying to stop the tears. I turned back to Leto and the Lycan, a wolfish grin formed itself on their faces. Their eyes started to glow, our claws connecting.
I felt the power surge through me.
Every fiber of my body burned.
I felt something even stronger.
Gods essence
I opened my eyes at the sound of loud snarling. My eyes widened, 'No!'
