Walking up her steps, my hands are sweating and shaking. I got a picture of her in danger. No clue who sent it. All I know is that she needs me.
Here we go. Maybe I should leave. Its too late. My hand knocked without me knowing.
"Toby?" She asked opening the door.
"Hey, Spencer. Are you okay?" I asked as she let me in.
"Yeah, yeah fine. Why?" She asked making two glasses of water.
"Someone texted me a picture of you coming out of a coffin."
"Oh, that was a joke."
"Spencer, tell me the truth. Please."
"I was joking around."
"Spencer!" I yelled walking towards her grabbing her arms. "Tell me the truth. Please."
"Fine. Someone's been torturing me. Only me. Okay? Is that what you wanted to hear?" She questioned.
"Why didn't you tell me? Spencer, you can trust me."
"I know, I'm just. I'm so scared," she said starting to cry. "I need you. You help me. Please don't leave."
She hugged me, and I felt so bad for her. As I hug her back, I realize that's why everything has happened. Because of me and this other person, Spencer's life has been a living hell. It didn't help that I never truly listened to her.
"I promise I will never leave you," I said into her hair and kissed her head. "Never."
"Toby, there's another thing you should know," Spencer said pulling away and walking towards her couch.
"And that is?"
"I love you. It sounds crazy I know, but it's true. I can't live without you."
Silence filled the air. Of course I love her, but never did I think, she would love me back.
"Toby?"
"I love you Spence," I said then kissed her.
It was full of passion and love. We didn't want to separate. Now I know, she's the one.
