Something's wrong with Spencer. We all want to help but can't because she won't let us.
At this point, I need her, so I just wait in the living room for her.
Eventually, she comes down, makes a cup of coffee and sits next to me on the couch.
We sit in silence for a while, both needing it.
"I'm sorry," Spencer says breaking the silence.
"For what?" I asked facing her.
"Ignoring you all. I just needed some time to think."
"It's fine, but Toby's freaking out. He just doesn't know what to do."
"I have to break up with him," she whispers as a tear falls from her face.
"What? Why?"
"He needs to be safe. I can't keep him safe."
"Honey, he loves you, and you love him. When you're together, you are safe," I replied rubbing her arm. "Besides, you both fought so hard to be together. Do you really want to break up because something got in the way?"
"No. I love him, I can't let him go, but as long as Charles is around tormenting us, I have to."
"Then I'll do it with you," I said surprising both of us.
"What?"
"You're right. As long as Charles is still out there, we should keep the ones we love safe. So I'll break up with Ali if you break up with Toby."
"Don't do that. Just-"
"No, it's not because of you. It's because of Charles."
