Spencer has been acting very strange lately. More than usual. I need to make things right between us.
I get to the Brew around 11:45 determined to see Spencer when she walks through the door at 12:00.
"You came," I smiled standing up as she walked in.
"Said I would. Look, I overreacted. Sorry. You didn't deserve it."
"I shouldn't have hit you in the head. I should have talked to you."
"Okay."
It was quiet for a moment. We got some coffee and sat down. Still quiet.
"So," I said.
"So... How's your girlfriend?" She asked.
"I dumped her. But I think she's fine."
"Oh, sorry."
Awkward silence. I feel like that's all that's ever going to be when we talk.
"Well, I guess I should be going," she said standing up.
"Really?" I asked standing as well. "We should hang out soon."
"Sure. Sure. I'll have to make sure I'm free, but I'll text you."
"Yeah, okay."
She left and I knew instantly that it would be hard to get back to the way we were, but we can do it. I know we can.
"Toby, hey," Caleb said walking beside me as I headed to my loft.
"Hey, Caleb. Anything you need?"
"Hanna was going to ask you something, but she said I could for her."
"And that is?" I asked as we entered.
"Mrs. Marin and Mr. Hastings were kissing, but she didn't know whether or not she should tell Spencer or not."
"Wait- Spencer's dad cheated on her mom?"
"Yeah, so should Hanna tell Spencer?" He asked neevously.
"If her dad doesn't, then yes."
"Thanks, and I hope you and Spencer go back to the way you used to be."
"Thanks."
"Yeah," he said leaving.
