When Toby left, I felt like a complete bitch. I should just tell him, right? It would make things easier. But what if --A decides to hurt him. I wouldn't be able to live with myself.
Instead of crying, which I so a lot, I decided to go for a drive. Then I remembered, my car is on the other side of town.
Needing to get out of the house, I go for a walk, and end up at the Grille. Walking in I feel many pairs of eyes on my face.
After ordering I went for a walk at the park to clear my head. Why does Toby put up with me? He deserves to know everything I know, but I just can't.
Alex ended things with me, but he didn't really give me a reason. At first, I was sad, but I quickly got over it. That sounds harsh, but we didn't really know each other.
While taking a sip, I bump into some one, and my coffee gets spilled over them.
"I'm so sorry," I say while trying to help him clean it up.
"It's fine. I probably shouldn't be on my phone while in the park, right Spencer?" he asked.
"Noel. Great. I have to go, but I'm really sorry."
"You need to repay me."
"What? How?"
"A date."
"You want to go on a date with me?"
"Of course not. With Aria. Set it up and we'll forget this ever happened. Deal?" he asked.
"Deal."
Walking home, I get a text from Hanna saying Toby's home and she needs a distraction.
I decided to call him, to help out. Why was she in his house? By the time I reach my house, I left him texts and calls.
As I got in I see Hanna on my couch, with coffee in her hands. She looks up with a worried, yet satisfaction look on her face.
"What?" I ask sitting next to her.
"Please, don't hate for going over there, but I had to make sure he was safe for you," she said.
"Did you find anything?"
"I want to say know, but I can't lie to you, Spence. I found Ali's bracelet in his kitchen."
"What?! We need to go over right now!"
"What? No. He saw that it was me! We can't just go over."
"Yes we can and we will," I stated.
The next morning Hanna and I are sitting in Toby's kitchen waiting for him to get up.
After what felt like forever, he finally comes in and looks at us weirdly.
We had a brief conversation, and then Hanna and I bolted out of his house, towards mine.
"Hey guys," we heard someone say as we got to the door.
"Hey, Em. What are you doing here?" I asked.
"Hanna texted, saying she wants me to come over."
"Really Hanna?" I ask.
"She has the right to know. Okay? She's going to find out anyways, so why not now?"
"Fine."
We got in, and told Emily everything. Looking at her face, she thought we were craZy. But eventually, she understood and realized it was the right thing to do.
