Caleb POV

After that fight with Hanna, I just staid outside on her porch steps. Around 3:00 am I got up and went for a walk.

When I got back to her house, the door was slightly open and I walked in. As I did, I heard movement upstairs and grabbed a bat walked carefully.

The noise is coming from Hanna's room, I crack the door open and see that she is sleeping and someone is standing by the window.

Someone comes up behind me and taps my shoulder making me jump.

"I'm sorry, Caleb," Mrs. Marin apologized in a whisper. "But what are you doing here?"

"The door was open and I thought I heard something from up here," I whispered back.

"I heard that fight you two had. Are you sure you should be here right now?" She asked.

"I just want to help her."

"I know. So do I. How about, you go make yourself some hot chocolate and stay inside for the rest of the night. Tomorrow you two can talk," she said walking to her door.

"Thank you, Mrs. Marin."

"Of course."

Looking back into Hanna's room, the person is gone, but Hanna is safe in bed.

I sat by her door the rest of the night making sure nothing hurt her.

When she woke up and got ready for the day she screamed when she saw me against her wall.

"What the hell is wrong with you?!" She asked as we walked down the stairs.

"I was protecting you last night. And it's a good thing I was because someone was in your room last night as your mom talked to me," I explained following her into the kitchen.

"Yeah, it was Aria! She needed me so I said she could stay the night. She came through the back door because you were sitting at the front door like a freakin stalker," she told me.

"Then why did she leave-"

"She left me a note saying she left through the window because he didn't want to wake up my mom. And she left because she was scared. I don't know why I'm even explaining this to you," she said walking out of the house.

"Hanna, I'm just trying to help!" I yelled grabbing her arm turning her around.

"Fine! You want to help me. Leave me alone!" She said then got into her car and left.
