Spencer POV

After mine and Toby's fight, which was my

fault like it always is, I went to take a drive and clear my head.

When I stopped at the Now Leaving Rosewood sign, I got a text. At first I ignored it, thinking it was just a friend, but my phone kept going off. Eventually I had enough of it and read the text.

Is poor Spencer thinking of running again? What a shock. You always know how to ruin lives right Spence? Just know, everyone thinks you're a bitch, and it's true isn't it?

At least some of our secrets stay safe. Sweet dreams, bitch.

I stayed in the car rereading the message, until I finally deleted it. It was true. Every word of it was. While in the car I started to cry.

Eventually, I turned around and headed home. Instead of going straight there, I decided to make a pit stop. I needed to apologize and leave as quick as I could.

Quickly, I got out of the car and headed towards the door. I knocked until someone answered. When the door opened I was glad to see that it was the person I wanted to talk to.

"Spencer, what are you doing here?" Toby asked.

"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry for being a bitch. You just need to know nothing was your fault, it was all mine. I'm just so sorry that you are my friend. I wouldn't being I were you," I said before turning around, getting in my car and driving away.

I knew I needed to go home, but I didn't. As I headed towards the grille, a car came out of nowhere and hit the back of my car.

I quickly got out and went to see if that person was okay. When I reaches the other car, it was completely empty. No signs of anyone being there.

Some people came up to me to see if I was okay. I said I was fine and as I was about to call my parents, I see them racing towards me.

"Spencer! You need to be more careful," was what they said as so as they reaches me.

"Mom, dad, I was the one hit. Aren't you going to see if I'm okay?" I asked annoyed.

"No! You need to drive more carefully," my mom said walking away shaking her head.

Instead of following her I ran. I ran away from the scene, my parents, everyone there. As I reached the destination I wanted to I knocked on the door multiple times.

"Spencer, what's wrong?" Hanna asked letting me in.

"I got into a car crash. My parents don't care. Can I stay here tonight?" I asked crying.

"Of course. Do you want some water?" she asked as we went into the kitchen.

"Yes, please."

As we got comfortable a few minutes later on the couch, Hanna asked me what happened. It took me a couple of moments because I did not want to cry any more.

"The car came out of nowhere and hit my tail. I'm just glad I didn't get injured," I said finishing up the story.

"Me to. Spence I'm so sorry for the way I treated about you and Toby being friends. It was wrong and disrespectful," Hanna said sincerely.

"It's fine, I promise."

We talked through the whole night. It was fun hanging out with Hanna again. Just as I was leaving my mom starts calling me. I ignore it and walk home.

As I walked through the front door Melissa comes up and hugs me. She seemed relieved that I was home safe and sound.

"Are you okay? Mom told me what happened. I just didn't believe it," Melissa said as we made our way to the kitchen.

"I'm fine. Just a little sore. And since when do you care about where I am?" I ask grabbing a water and heading up stairs.

"Since your my little sister and almost died last night.

When I got to my room, I went to bed and had nightmares. They were so vivid, that when I woke up I was sweating.

"How are you feeling?" a voice from my doorway asked.

"Good. You?" I asked sitting up.

"Spencer, you could've died last night. Why didn't you just go home?" Toby asked sitting next to me.

"I needed to think."

"About?"

"How someone is trying to kill me."
