Oliver couldn't sit still. His legs kept shaking as he sat with his family at the dinner table. His eyes kept glancing at the giant wall clock peripheral to his vision.
8:10, it read.
Fucking Chris.
He wanted to hit something, he really did.
Why was he so pissed? He didn't care. He didn't care at all. Chris could do whatever he wanted. He could move to a new house on a day's notice. He could go on that date with that fucking paedophile, see if he cared.
He clutched at his fork rather hard. He was so pissed, irritated too.
"...Oliver?"
He looked up and all eyes were on him.
"Oliver, I have been calling you for quite some time. Honey, are you okay?" his mother asked, looking a bit worried.
Oliver blinked, clearing his throat.
"Yeah, yes"
"Not going on your usual nightly rendezvous, I see" Lisa spoke next. She had refused to go back to wherever she usually disappeared to. He knew she was up to no good and he was sure it involved Lia and Chris. While he hated Chris, Lia was a decent woman who was nice when she visited him. He then remembered he didn't even know where their new house was located and another wave of annoyance crashed on him. He wasn't surprised they all knew he ran off somewhere every night. He didn't try to hide it.
It is over now.
Fucking Chris.
"If you frown too much, you'll get wrinkles before you even hit twenty" Lisa's voice snapped him out of his thoughts. He fought the urge to roll his eyes. That would be disrespectful.
Since when did he care about being disrespectful or not?
He hated this version of himself.
"So, what's the name of the girl that's got your insides and face all twisted?" Lisa spoke to him again. He didn't want to have a conversation with her. He really didn't.
"There is no girl"
It was almost laughable how much Lisa refused to acknowledge that he liked boys too. A while back, he thought he was just gay but his attraction to girls was still there, so identifying as bi made sense. She really was going to have field day when she discovered Chris was only attracted to boys.
"You've been glancing at the clock all dinner. You've been...balanced these past few weeks",
He unnoticeably scoffed at his mother's comment. At least he hoped it was unnoticeable. He would have been offended if he didn't already know he was crazy.
"The nightly trips seemed to have helped, yes? Perhaps it's a boy that has your mood down?"
It was a boy alright. A boy he hated.
"Is it Paul?"
Oliver frowned. The situation with Paul was confusing to say the least. Were they together? Were they not together? They hadn't seen each other much. He had been pretty preoccupied with...
Fucking Chris.
Ever since Chris showed, his whole world had been turned upside down. He hated it. He hated it.
He quickly took a sip of his drink and proceeded to stand.
"I'm full. May I be excused?"
"You hardly need permission if-", Lisa was saying when his mother interrupted.
"Sure, honey, good night"
"Before you leave", his father spoke up. Those were his first words to Oliver all day, hell, all week. If Oliver was a better son, he would be worried.
"We've invited Mrs Cameron and her kids to have dinner with us next week Tuesday"
Oliver hated the way his heart skipped a beat.
"We believe the best way foreword is for everyone to get to know each other better. You can even bring your boyfriend. Paul, was it?
Oliver blinked, and then blinked again. Since when has his father cared about that? He nodded though and walked away from his family.
Oliver would speak to Chris on Tuesday and give him a piece of his mind.(A/N: I apologize for disappearing again. And came back with mere 700 words. I apologize. I'll do better Life happened...again ;(( )
(Editing this book and seeing how much Oliver claimed he hated Chris, it proves there is truly a thin line between love and hate)
