(Update A/N: so this chapter is awful and frankly unnecessary. I'm a different person than I was when I wrote this. It's just bad. I'm literally crying and cringing and hitting myself.  I'm going to try to like correct it though it's bad)

(Update Update A/N: so I think it's a lot better now. Like it was awful before, just awful. How I got reads after this chapter is a miracle)
           Oliver came down the stairs and walked to the dining room. He took his seat and ignored everyone. He desperately wanted to skip dinner that day but he knew his parents would give him a hard time and he didn’t want anymore hard time. He’s got a lot of things to worry about already. 
The maid served their meals and everyone started to eat. 
“How was school today, Emalia?” Daniel proceeded to involve in small talk. 
“It was great. I got awarded first in the class’s test”, she answered in excitement. 
Jessica smiled proudly at her daughter. 
“We’re so proud of you”, she said while her husband nodded. 
Emalia smiled and continued eating. 
Jessica turned to face her son. 
“What about you, Oliver? How was school today?”
He shrugged and didn’t say anything afterwards. 
Daniel wanted to call him out but Jessica stopped him shaking her head. He sighed.
     On the other hand, Lena is on a phone call as she stood a few feet away from the dining table. 
“Ok, got it. Sleep well, love you too”
She hung up and exhaled deeply before walking towards the family.
“Lena, I thought you left”.
Jessica thought Lena worked the hardest among all assistants she’s ever heard. She was honest and felt at ease discussing her personal family matters with her. She would make sure to increase her pay. 
“I was just about to but I received a phone call from the school and we have a situation”
Jessica signalled for her to continue. 
“A student, the student you offered a scholarship to be precise had a shock and fainted earlier”
Jessica stopped eating and frowned. 
“Why didn’t his parents tell us he was sick? That’s so irresponsible of them”, Jessica wondered. She wouldn’t have cancelled the scholarship. If anything, she would have given him extra special treatment. 
“Well, the thing is, it was triggered by your son”, she rushed out. 
Daniel paid attention then. 
Oliver stopped eating and frowned. 
What?
Jessica turned to face her son. 
“What did you do?”
“Nothing, I don’t even know what she’s blabbering about” Oliver retorted. 
He didn’t do anything at school, didn’t even fight with anyone expect...oh. 
Oh, was that what happened to that midget freak?
Oliver almost snickered out. A punch was all was needed to knock the loser out. 
“You’re grounded”. 
Oliver’s attention turned to his father. 
What? He couldn’t ground him. 
I’m not fucking twelve. 
“You can’t ground me”
“I can and I just did. I’ve kept silent long enough. You’re turning into someone that I do not recognise. Where’s all this rebellion coming from? I’ve given you everything you need and want”
Oliver fought the urge the roll his eyes and yawn. Same old, same old.
“Aren’t you going to hear the side of my story?”
“By all means, tell us what happened”
“He ruined my jacket”, Oliver said with a straight face. 
Daniel controlled his mouth to say what he really wanted to say. Jessica shook her head at her son not recognising who he was anymore, even Emalia face palmed. 
“Go to your room and don’t step out until I say so”, Daniel ordered. 
Oliver did roll his eyes this time. 
“You don’t tell me what to do”
“Excuse me?”
“You do not tell me what to do”
“Oliver!!!” Jessica exclaimed.
Oliver stood up, 
“I’ve got better things to do than sit here pretending we’re one big happy family when we’re not”
He turned and started to walk towards the front door. 
“Oliver”
“Oliver, stop right there this instant”
“Oliver”
He refused to turn back till he was out the front door. He quickly got into his car and sped off.
