(A/N: I added a few hundred words to the previous chapter. In order not to cause confusion, I suggest you read the previous chapter again before this one. I apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for being patient:-))
It was a new week. Though Midterms had not officially started, some students were already participating in tests, much to their dismay. Oliver sat impatiently through his classes. He couldn't sit still. He was too nervous about what was going to happen later today. He would find his biological mother at all cost.
"Pppt, Oliver, buddy"
It was Math's class and Jacob wouldn't stop bothering him. It was pissing him off.
"Oliver, come on man, Oliver"
Frustrated, he turned and glared at him.
"What do you want?"
"What's with that attitude? I didn't break your arm. Speaking of arms, Drew also has his arm broken. Was he the driver you collided with? You should have killed him. He's annoying"
Oliver frowned and glared even more at him. That wasn't even remotely funny.
"Fuck off, Jacob"
He turned and faced the front of the class. It was true their teacher also had his arm in a sling but he couldn't careless how he got it.As soon as Chris walked out of his Advanced Fine Arts class, he was pulled into a hug. His flight reflex immediately kicked in. He didn't want this. The person stepped back a second later. He realized it was Barkis.
"Oh my God Chris, I'm so sorry, I totally forgot you don't like physical contacts or is your autism different? Oh what am I saying?" Chris watched her ramble, feeling confused.
"I heard about what happened to Kathy. Is she okay? Charlie was literally freaking out when he told us. Is she still at the hospital?"
"She had surgery"
"What? Oh my God"
"But the doctor said she's fine now"
"Oh Chris, I'm so sorry"
"Why are you apologizing? You didn't do anything wrong"
"Oh Chris, come on, the rest of the guys are waiting at the cafeteria"
She signaled and they walked together.Barely anything could shake Drew but right then, he was shaken and all the other teachers noticed, though none confronted him. Ever since that night he saw her and him. He couldn't believe it. His mind was going through all the possibilities that he could be his... He shook his head no, that wasn't possible. He'd only been with her once but what if? He was going crazy. Drew could easily admit that disappearing from Lia's life almost two decades ago was a dick move. He would have stayed if he had had a choice. He was freaking out. Did he have a son he knew nothing of? A student at his most successful job and workplace at that? That was absurd. Lia could have been with other men. He needed to stop thinking so much, his head was starting to hurt.
The sudden arm on his shoulder startled him that he jumped.
Barely biting back the 'fuck' that was at the tip of his mouth because cursing was prohibited from the school, both from students and teachers, (though no one was around, he was already programmed to obey the rule) he looked up at the sudden guest. It was his sister. She said she would come.
She looked at him funny and took a seat in front of him.
"I knocked on your door, entered, stood in front of you, called your name thrice and you still didn't notice until I touched your arm. What's going on?"
"I'm fine, Lena"
"That was not my question, Andrew. What's going on with you? Sorry if I'm worried. Nothing has been able to break through that thick skin of yours so this is coming off as a surprise"
"It's nothing, it's just-"
"Go on, spill"
"What's going on with that woman you mentioned?"
The sudden blush on his sister's face had him smiling. He had his issues but they can wait.
"This is not about me. You're changing the subject"
"What was her name again? Lily? Lucia?"
"It's Lia and let's focus on the matter at hand, you!"
Drew was rendered gob smacked. Growing up in the toxic environment he did, he constable thought of the worst case scenario and right at this moment, he was thinking of the worst case scenario. It couldn't be. Impossible.
"Oh no, you have that that look on your face again, the one you had when I walked in. What's going on with you?"
"Lena, I think...I might have a son I didn't know existed"****************
"Aw, you poor baby", Vivi said once Chris and Barkis arrived at the table.
"Keep your paws to yourself, lady. Chris doesn't like physical contact"
"Shut up, whore"
Ken simply rolled his eyes.
"He doesn't even deny it", Vivi muttered
"Watch it, Vivian, you're really pushing it"
"Oh you guys, grow up"
They both took their seats. Chris felt eyes on him. It made him very comfortable. He just wanted to eat in peace.
"Guys don't do that, that makes him uncomfortable", Ken commented again.
"Oh come on, you're being ridiculous now. My cousin has Aspergers and he-", Vivi started to say but is interrupted by Ken who said,
"It's different for every autistic person, even a child knows that. That's why it's called being on a spectrum and who knows maybe Chris has Rett syndrome"
"Oh please, only girls have Rett syndrome"
"Not exclusively"
"And physical disability is also present. Chris isn't disabled physically"
"Oh you guys are just sounding like assholes, pardon my french. What is wrong with both of you?" Barkis rose her voice chiding them.
"Can we please just focus on the matter at hand? Charlie's comment finally brought some order to the table.
"Chris, how is Kathy? Is she alright?" Charlie asked once everyone had stop arguing.
"She had to have surgery but the doctor said she's fine"
"After school, we are so visiting her. Kathy can be such a pessimist and a bitch but I'm glad she's alright" Vivi said earning another glare from Ken.
"The only bitch I see here is you"
"Ken cut it out"
"You heard what she said about a sick girl, right?"
"Guys, guys, guys stop being so childish. Why am I friends with any of you?" Charlie muttered going back to read his book.
Chris on the other hand just stared into space. Their argument was given him an headache but he didn't feel like saying anything so he wouldn't. Speaking would only increase his headache. He had a test and hoped help felt good afterwards so he could visit Kathy in good spirits.
