Chapter 5

Bella was out with her friends while Amir got dress in a Leather jacket over the blue button up tucked into it his pants. He wanted to dressed up with his dress shoes. He walks down the stairs to the living room.

"Goodmoring mom. I'm heading to the book store. You need anything?" He asked hugging her. She hugs him back.

"Not really, I'm just looking at jobs applications out here. Drive safely" she said drinking her coffee with her labtop open.

Amir walks out the door and climb into the driver seat. He close the door and start the engine driving off to the book store.

Parking the car, he locks the doors and walk into Thunderbird and Whale bookstore. He look around for good books he can read. He pay for the books he pick out seeing the bell ring of the door. Amir see Bella leave the store after paying for her book. Amir follows her wondering where she going at this time at night. She should be with her friends.

She heads down the sidewalk, but then hears footsteps behind her. She turns and sees Amir behind her. She jump scared for a second.

"Gosh you scared me, what you doing here?" She asked. "I was buying a couple books see" he lift up the bag. She puts the book in her shoulder bag and continue walking with him.

"So, you going to follow me?" She asked. "No, but I am going to walk you back to where you going"

Hearing footsteps, Amir paused and looking behind him seein someone following him. "Hurry let's go someone following" they looks around, changing course to cut across a parking lot. More people gets closer... and closer, until they reaches a warehouse at the end of the parking lot. Isolated. Bella breath picks up as two men emerge from the shadows

"We saw you at the dress store" One of the guys said. "Hey, where you going to?"

"Leave her alone. We are going home" Amir said walking from them with Bella holding her hand

"What's up girl?" One of the guys holler at her. "Where you going?"

"Where are you guys going" another asked. "Away from you, dumb asses" Amir feeling his beast coming out.

"Fiesty one" another guy said.

"Wanna beer?" One of the guys said. Amir look to the left the other two guys are there. They are cornered.

"No, we don't want your stupid beer. Fuck off" Amir said as she takes her purse from around her shoulder. "Look, just take my bag"

"We don't want your bag" the guy said. They crowding around them Amir feels his hand getting more hairier. He looks down seeing some hairs growing he is close to shifting.

Amir push one of the guys away. Bella takes a defensive stance and wraps the strap around her wrist to use her purse as a mace. They chortle derisively. But when one of the guys comes near, she swings it, hits him in the groin.

Amir punch another guy in the jaw making him fall over. He feel his eyes changing to Gold. The book in Bella bag doubles him over. The other three laugh, and start closing them in just as Amir was about to shift and tear them to shreds. Headlights blind them. A silver Volvo screeches up. The guys dive out of the way. The passenger-side door opens. It's Edward.

She's too stunned to even move. "Get in" he said to them. Amir didn't listen and glares at the guy with deep hatred. They back away scared. Edward steps up beside him. Trying to edge Amir away from them. He finally breaks contact feeling his eyes change back to normal. Him and edward turn around taking a seat. Amir went into the back seat calming down while Edward went into the drivers seat. Bella was already in the front seat.

Bella continues to stare. She sees that he's seething with anger, hands gripping the steering wheel, jaw clenched. "What -- no, how did you find?-"

Edward mumbles through his gritted teeth, "I should go back and rip their heads off"

"Go do it-" Amir said. "No!"

"No Bad idea" Bella said.

"You don't know the vile, repulsive things they were thinking" Edward said still angry. "And you do?"

"Not hard to guess" Edward said. Amir is more calmed down now. He need to let his bear out one of these days. He almost lost control because of those assholes.

At the waterfall enterence Jessica and Angela exit the restaurant as Bella approaches with Amir.

"Where were you!? We left you a message" Angela asked. "Oh hello Amir"

"Hello, we went to the bookstore" he said.

"We waited, but we were starving -" Jessica cut off her speech when she see Edward behind Bella. They freeze, agog. He's composed now, making an effort to be charming. And they are charmed.

"Sorry I kept Bella from dinner. We ran into each other along with Amir and got talking" Edward said giving them a small smile.

" we - understand. We were just... leaving, so -" Jessica said cutting herself off.

"Can you guys drop me off by my car so I can drive home?" Amir asked. Angela nods along with Jessica. "Sure. Just tell us where to go" Bella was about to go with them.

"Okay, well. Thank you" she said. She starts to follow the girls.

Edward abruptly say something before she does, "Maybe I should make sure Bella gets something to eat... If you'd like. Then I could drive you back myself"

"That's so... thoughtful" Angela said. "Really thoughtful"

Bella debates, but answer "I could eat" As he guides her off, the two girls share a look, and a made a excitement noise. Amir roll his eyes and walks to Jess car.

Jessica drop Amir off by his car. He take off driving back to the house. When he got there, he went straight into his room. He went straight into research and it lead him to the "Cold One " on google.

Several beer ads appear. Frustrated, he closes the pop-ups, revealing a link to: "The Cold One: Apotamkin" - - Several PICTURES begin loading: the seductive Apotamkin with his ice-blue skin, devouring his victims in tapestries, engravings, paintings. Creatures beautiful and horrific. Craven, skeletal demons attacking villages; perfectly sculpted predators, luring innocent maidens... it's all murder, blood, sexuality. THEN SEVERAL WORDS LEAP OUT in quick succession: "Speed." "Strength." "Cold skinned." "Immortal... " Then finally: "Blood drinker". Amir knew exactly what the Cullens is and he need to be even more careful around the wolves and vampires, or they find out what he is.
