Chapter 9

Amir gets dress into some comfortable jeans with a red shirt and a leather jacket over it. He walks down seeing his mother sitting with Charlie at the table. Charlie cleaning a rifle. Charlie laughs at something she said.

"Hello, mom and Charlie" Amir said pulling out a chair and sitting beside his mother.

"Hello hon. Glad I can see you this morning instead of working. Works can really take most of your time" she said.

"Same with my job. Most of my time is helping people" Charlie said while cleaning the rifle.

"I have a date with Alice and Jasper again" Amir said watching Charlie clean the rifle.

"Will I be able to meet them this time? I hope so because they seem to be dating you. I approved as long as your happy. It doesn't bother me" she said pointed out.

"Yea you get to meet them" Bella then walks in. Charlie and Mina were about to say hello when she blurts out, "I have a date with Edward Cullen"

He suddenly looks like he's having an aneurysm. Charlie shakes his head before responding, "He's too old for you"

"We're both juniors. I thought you liked the Cullens" Bella said.

"And I thought you weren't interested in any of the boys in town" Charlie said. Mina raised her eyebrows surprised sipping her tea.

"Edward doesn't live "in town." And it's in the early stage and - - whatever, he's outside right now with Alice and Jasper" Bella said.

"Now? He's out there?" Charlie seems startled.

"He wants to meet you. Officially" Charlie nods. "Good" He cocks the rifle in mock-seriousness "Alright, Bring him in"

"Be nice, okay? He's... important" Bella said. Mina stands up excited to meet them.  Charlie gives his daughter a reassuring nod... then she opens the door to reveals Edward in a parka and gloves. Next to him are Alice and Jasper. Alice smiles at Amir.

'Chief Swan. I wanted to formally introduce myself. I'm Edward Cullen"  Edward extends his hand. Charlie takes it, but grunts a hello, resisting him.

"I'm Alice and this is Jasper. It's nice to finally meet the mother of Amir" extending her hand. Mina smiles and shakes her hand.

"It's nice to meet you both as well"

"We won't keep Bella and Amir out late tonight. We're just going to go play baseball with my family" Edward said.

"Bella's going to play baseball?" Charlie asked surprised. Bella's equally surprised, but hides it.

"Baseball that sounds fun" Mina said.

"Yes, that's the plan" Edward said giving a small smile.

"Well. More power to you, I guess" Charlie said. Edward looks at both od them and nods. "They will be safe with us, sir, I promise"  As Edward exits. Alice and Jasper follows giving Amir a smile. Amir walks out the door.

"Have fun Amir and be safe please"  Mina said smiling then looking at Charlie.  Charlie holds Bella back. "You got that pepper spray?"

"Dad"

Amir looks at Alice and Jasper. "I didn't know you play baseball" he said.

"We play when there is a thunderstorm coming. It's the only time we can play. You'll see why" Jasper said walking with Alice to the jeep along with Bella and Edward. Jasper opens the back seat door for him. Amir climb in and sits down. Jasper let Alice sit next to him as he close the door. Jasper gets in on the other side.
