Chapter 8

The silence contrasts the previous scene's noise. It's a large field surrounded by dense forest. The mist is heavy; it's overcast, grey. Suddenly, the quiet is broke by Emmett being flung through the air, He lands hard on his back, but immediately springs up to face Jasper face the one who threw him. "Again"

Carlisle, Esme, Alice, Rosalie, Alec and Jane who watch them spar. Amir standing behind Alice holding her.  Edward Volvo comes in as it skids to a halt next to Jasper's Jeep. Edward and Bella climb out, head into the field together. Halfway across, Edward stops.

"They're here" Edward said. On the tree line from out of the mist skulk eight giant wolves, as wary and on edge as the Cullens are. Emmett recognizes Paul-wolf, their eyes meet, both itching for a rematch.

"They don't trust us enough to be in their human forms" Edward said.

"They came. That's what matters" Carlisle said. Bella sees the red- brown wolf as it turns toward her. "Jake... " A sharp look from Sam-wolf gets Jacob-wolf to focus.

Amir observes Seth and Leah wolves. Light brown wolf is Seth and Grey wolf is Leah. Amir smiles at them

"Will you translate?" Carlisle asked Edward nods. Carlisle moves slowly towards their pack. Sam-wolf, the biggest and blackest steps forward.

"Welcome. Jasper has experience with newborns. He'll teach us how to defeat them" Carlisle said.

" They want to know how the 'newborns' is differ from us" Edward said. "They're a great deal stronger than us, because their own human blood lingers in their tissues. Our kind is never more physically powerful... ... than in our first several months of this life"

The pack takes this in. Carlisle nods to Jasper to take over. Jasper is initially uncomfortable with both the wolves and the attention, but steps forward.

"Carlisle's right. That's why they are created. A newborn army doesn't need thousands like a human army. And no human army could stand against them. The two most important things to remember are, first... Never let them get their arms around you. They'll crush you instantly. The second... Never go for the obvious kill. They'll be expecting that. And you will lose" Jasper said.

"Emmett? Don't hold back" Jasper said.  "Not in my nature" Emmett charges Jasper with impossible speed, but Jasper is a virtual blur. Emmett lunges several times, his strong arms grabbing at him. Jasper holds him off before Emmett fling him away. Jasper gets up and runs fast like a blur. Emmett charges to swinging. Jasper dodge it and grab him slamming him to the ground.  Jasper stops to says, "Never lose focus"

Edward and Carlisle were next. They charge at each other. Carlisle slid under when Edward try to jump and grab him. They turn around and run at each other. Blocking, holding each other off wrestling till Carlisle fling Edward away. Edward come back. Carlisle swing his arm. Edward dodge it moving his arm to the side grabbing his chest shirt slamming him to the ground. Edward turn around thinking he won, "One more thing" Carlisle grab him and tackle him down, "Never turn your back on your enemy"

Rosalie have her turn with Jasper. Then it was Alice turn with Jasper.

Alice and Jasper spar, spiraling twisting. Jasper lunges at her but when her eyes glaze over. Alice saw his move and dodge it. He swings his arm but Alice dodge it, disappearing, ending on a tree. Jumping down landing on his back giving him a kiss.

Everyone takes turns sparring with Jasper or pairing off against each other. They're all blurs, which become visible as shift to slow motion to SEE a violent but extraordinary dance. Eventually the training was over.

Amir was talking to Alec and Jane.
"It's going to be dangerous" Amir said.

"It will be, but we know what moves to take when the battle comes" Alec said.

"Especially me" Jane said.

"Good, because I don't want anything bad to happen to all of you" Amir said as Jane hugs him.

"Nothing will happen to us I promise" Jane said giving him a reassuring smile.
Amir looks around seeing Jasper with Bella and Alice walking up to him.

"I thought what Maria and I had was love, But I was her puppet. She pulled the strings. I didn't know there was another way... Until I found Alice. Now she'd seen me coming, of course" Jasper said.

"Kept me waiting long enough" Alice said.

"My apologies, Ma'am. I don't know what I'd have become without her and Amir" Jasper said smiling at Alice.   Alice wraps her arms around Jasper from behind him.

"You'll never have to be that again" Alice said. Alice kisses his lips. Amir smiles at that and looks around more seeing Leah and Seth one more time before the wolves walk off.

Amir laying in his bed with Alec and Jane when Alice and Jasper comes in through the window.

"Hello" Alice said smiling.

"Alice wanted to stay the night with our other mate tonight. I thought why not join. Wouldn't mind spending time with you" Jasper said sitting on the edge of the bed.

"How are you all going to fit in my bed?" Amir asked.

"Well the females can cuddle on your chest and we can lay beside you" Jasper suggested.

"That's actually not a bad idea" Alec said scooting over on his left Amir in the middle of the bed.

Jane laying down on his left chest and Alice lays down on his right chest. Jasper lay down on the right side of him.

"You alright?" Alice asked Amir.

"Yes, I'm great" he said yawning closing his eyes comfortably cuddling into them.

"Goodnight"

"Goodnight Amir" they said.
