Chapter 10

"We should take this conversation to a more appropriate venue" Demetri said just as Amir and Alice arrive.

"Fine. Bella, why don't you stay and enjoy the festival?" Edward said.

"The girl comes with us" Felix said.

"That's not going to happen -" Edward said. Alice pulls back the hood of her white swing coat.

"Come on, guys, it's a festival" Alice said.  She reaches Edward and Bella, positioning herself in a protective stance in front of them and Amir.

"We wouldn't want to make a scene"

"There won't be any scene. And we'll still win" Felix said. "But not easily-" A women in a cape steps up with a hoodie on. Amir observed as his eyes widen. This was his other mate.

"Enough" the women said. She also wears a dark overcoat, her Botticelli angel-like face peering out from under the hood. See her crimson irises. Felix and Demetri are back off immediately. Edward and Alice step back, as well. Amir can see they're afraid of this small girl.

Edward nods at her, "Jane". Amir looks into her eyes as her eyes connected with his. Her eyes widen then went back to normal. Alice looks at Amir then Jane realizing what's happening. Alice calm down knowing Amir won't ger hurt.

"Who is she?" Bella asks Alice. "Just do as she says" Jane tosses Edward an overcoat. He wears it.

"Follow me" Jane simply turns and heads up the alley, confident they'll follow. Felix, smirking, gestures for them to go ahead of him. They follow Jane. Jane leads Edward, Bella, Amir and Alice through several narrow, dark alleys. Felix and Demetri bring up the rear. Edward never loosens his grip on Bella's hand. Their path dead ends at a wall of brick.

Amir watch her walk seeing her confidence in it. Jane just strides forward and, without breaking pace - drops down into an open hole in the street; it's a drain. Alice follows Jane. Bella looks down, sees nothing but blackness. Amir jump down and Alice catch him. Putting him down.

"It's alright. Alice will catch you" Edward takes her wrists, dangles her over the hole. She drops through the darkness, to be caught by Alice. Edward lands beside them, then Felix and Demetri. Alice walks very close to Amir as they follow Jane through the sewer. Edward meets Bella's eyes, trying to look reassuring, but he's tense as hell.

Finally, they reach a folding iron elevator door. Jane easily pulls it aside. They all enter. As the door clangs shut on them. Jane steps in very close to Amir and he doesn't mind it. Letting her be close in front of him.

The elevator open and they walk out into a hall. Elegantly decorated space with old world charm. They're greeted politely by an attractive receptionist. "Buon pomeriggio" They head through the lobby to the long door.

"Is she human?" Bella asked Edward. "Yes"

"Does she know"

"Yes" Edward said. "Then why would- she wants to be"

"And so she will be"

"For desert" Jane said.

Finally, they reach the carved double doors which open. Bella, Edward, Amir and Alice enter to face the three ancients' kings. There's a depression in the center that leads to a drain. Amir looks around calmly. Jane walks to Alec.

"Sister, send you out to get one. Bring back two and a half. Such a clever girl" Alec said. Amir looks at Alec. His eyes raised again realizing he found 4 of his mates now. Alec stares into his eyes and it clicked for them. Aro rises, greets them like old friends.

"What a happy surprise! Bella is alive after all. Isn't that wonderful? I love a happy ending" Aro said shaking Edward hand. Caius responds with a sour expression. Marcus could care less.
